Roto-rooter Pricing Ripoff Auburn, Washington

 First time I've called a plumber, called Roto-Rooter cause they have been around awhile.  Naturally hindsight is 20/20 and should have done things differently, but when main sewer line is clogged, it's an emergency.

 Everything was clogged, called Roto-rooter up, they got a  guy out quickly.  Spent maybe 2hrs running a snake thru my lines.  Seems to have got it.  Over $400.

Line clogged up again, got a camera guy out here, close to $400, found that the back wash "door" was busted.  Wanted $4000 to tear up sidewalk and foundation to repair, fortunately I knew it was accessible under the house.  So they call in to the office and new quote is $1600, I just wanted it fixed.  This is where I should've sent them packing, I said fix it.  In about an hour they were done.  Man do I feel raped.

 Almost a months wages for less then a days work from them, this is where regulation is really needed. Other than this I was responsible for the decision to allow this as they gave me the pricing up front.  I still don't know if it would have been cheaper elsewhere, I do however feel  that as an experienced plumber, they would have found that the back wash door was busted the first time out, as I learned there is an access panel to it and they should have checked it.  Seems as though they intentionally dragged this out and I suggest you call anyone else first. 

If this is normal for Roto-Rooter, I don't understand how they are still in business.
