On June 15, 2004 I contacted Satellite Systems Network to request information (fine print) on their current Promotional Advertisement. The promotion was "Order DirecTV for one year, and get one free dish, 3 receivers, a six month discounted price, free three-room installation, along with a free Home Theater System (4 speaker, subwoofer, and DVD player.)" The sales person said all I have to do is sign up for a one-year commitment, do not make any late payments, and have the system installed within 30 days of my order, and after 6 months I would receive the Home Theater System. I did not place my order at that time.
I called back on June 30, 2004 to place my order. I spoke to a different sales person, but I reiterated what the first sales person explained to me, which he confirmed. He said he wasn't sure if they would still have any Systems in stock, but if not, they would issue a check that would cover the price of the system. Which I believe was $95. He explained to me that the System or Check would be sent to me after the 6 months had gone by.
I have not broken any of the stipulations of the contract in order to receive my Theater System or Check.
After not receiving my System after December 31, 2004, I decided to look into the hold up. It took me 3 days to find out who I placed my order with, because as it turns out, it was a Dealer Promotion, not a DirecTV promotion.
I called Satellite Systems Network early January 2005. After speaking to 3 people I was told that I would have to fill out a release form, which would be sent to my house. I never received a release form to fill out. I called back and spoke to another representative, who said that they could not issue a System until a release form was filled out, and that they would send me a form.
After still not receiving a release form I looked up background information about this company, only to find that they have done this to numerous people. I was able to find the number to the Customer Service Manager, Laryssa. On January 31, 2005 I left a message on Laryssa's voicemail requesting a call back regarding my Theater System, and their horrible customer service. On February 1, 2005 I received a call back, not from Laryssa, stating "I'm returning your call regarding your Theater System, I don't know what your question was, please call us back." I couldn't have made my question more simple over voicemail.
It's now February 3, 2005 and I am still without my System, and my DirecTV bill just increased because my 6 month billing promotion is over. Now I am required to pay more each month, but I have been scammed out of my Promotional Item.
Thank you Satellite Systems Network for giving me the shaft, and letting me deal with your horrible Customer Service Department. I should have looked at your Better Business Bureau report before ordering from you, because I would have found that you scored an "F". If this matter is not resolved, I will pursue legal support.

#1 REBUTTAL Owner of company
All of our customers do have to fill out a promotion form
AUTHOR: Laryssa - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Wednesday, February 16, 2005
Though I'm uncomfortable having my name on this website without being asked to display it, I would like to explain. All of our customers do have to fill out a promotion form and return to us so that we may verify activated for 6 months, etc. In reality, the day this customer called, I had meetings. My messages were checked by a rep of mine, and returned by a rep of mine. I did not call this customer back due to our CS rep returning calls. The simple solving of this complaint is to have the cust send us the promotion form that was sent to him on 1/13/05,completed. Once I have that, and information is verified, I can rush shipment for system.
