In March of 2004, while getting my tires rotated by my local car dealer; it was suggested that I get my front brake pads changed. So I decided to get my brake pads changed immediately.
After doing some compartive shopping, I decided to go to Sears Auto Center. By them being the closest to home, and most reasonably priced; I thought that this was definitely the way to go.
So I took my SUV to Sears Auto Center, to have my brakes done. I had only intended to get only the front brake pads changed; however the technician showed me the wear on the rear brake pads, and suggested that I replace the rear brake pads as well.
After the brake job was complete, the technician informed me that "the brakes would sqeak a little bit for about a week." So off I drove.
After about a week and a half, the brakes were still squeaking, so I immediately brought my truck back in to be re-serviced.
The technician told me that; the front pads weren't working properly, and that he was ordering "ceramic brake pads" this time. The technician said that the rear brake pads, checked out to be ok. Everything was fine after that.
Upon taking my vehicle to The same Sears Auto Center for a wheel alignment, I agreed to the $30.00 inspection charge to check my brakes as well, sense I recently had them do my brakes.
I chose not to wait, and they called me @ home and told me that I need all four new rotors, and four new brake pads. I told them not to touch it! I came and retrieved my truck immediately.
The problem is this; why do I now need new rotors, when I recently had a brake job (twice)! The manager (Jesse Cruz) wouldn't help, and I left a message for his boss (Ms. Hall), she never responded. The brake pads are under warrentee, the rotors are my concern. Why should I have to pay for their negligence???? What can be done about this?

sears auto ripoff?

I guess you may be correct about some of the employees at the sears auto centers. It is possible that you are just maybe a person how just likes to whine, or perhaps someone who thinks they may know it all or maybe just someone like this goverment worker who has seen and done it all.
Unfotunately, alot of people donot get the philosophy that sears has.
I am one of those people too, they just make sure that they pay me every 2 weeks.
I think that maybe this gentleman should probably pay attention to what is going on with his truck, or take it to someone else.

Mechanic

Sears can offer cheap prices because they hire mechanics who don't know better or are shoddy and still need work.
This is not the case in all sears.
It is a case by case basis.
The managers are inexperienced and don't know better.
MY POINT IS THAT IF THEY OVERTIGHTEN THE WHEELS WITH AN IMPACT GUN THIS COULD WARP THE ROTORS.
I am a very experienced Mechanic.
In my resume Autos, M.cycles, Tanks and heavy equiptment, Aircraft fixed and rotory wing.
I work for the US Gov.
It seems like many people have this done by unknowing or uncaring mechs. but then the company will not take responsibility.
Key indicator.
If the rotors were warped then they should have told you when they did the work the first time.
