I attempted to purchase a Ninetendo DS Lite. I saw it advertised at Target for $119 and thought surely Sears would up hold their price match policy. I wasn't even particularly looking for the 10 % on top of the price match (it would be an added bonus).

First I visited the local store, waited almost 10 mins and had to hunt down a sales associate - only to be told, we don't carry them here. Strike 1

Then I thought I'd try online, but wanted to verify the price match policy first. I tried the online chat to find that "we don't match Target and/or WalMart...only our competitors" WHO exactly do they think their competitors are?

I was asked to fill out a customer survey, so I thought maybe someone in corporate would take notice - apparently they cannot be concerned with piddly issues. To date, I have received no response.

There price match policy is a sham!

Yes, lol! sorry I did not see that in that case let me rephrase the first part. The store should have attempted to order the DS lite. It would have taken them all of 30 seconds to ring the sale call target to see if they have it in stock and do the price match! This time shame on Sears.

That is why you NEVER EVER use Sears.com, they are an entity that is separate from a full line store. Your best bet would have been to go into a Sears store see how much the DS lites were and according to Sears.com right now they are 129.99 which Target has them for 119.99 you are absolutely right. Now as far as the 10% on top of the price match that is incorrect.
The way the 10% works is its 10% of the DIFFERENCE. not of the total price. So 129.99-119.99=10.00x10%=1.00 extra you are saving once again don't be upset because sears.com told you something never ever believe them. Even having worked for Sears I absolutely hate Sears.com they will lie and even lie to an associate who works for the company. So if you would please go into your local store next time you need something like this done.
