NEVER buy from Sears. Even the jewelry falls apart, and if you so much as take their stickers off to try to wear it, you can't return or exchange the stuff.
I spent a total of $2,365.82 on appliances at Sears, and none have ever worked properly. Got a range (Model number of this range is supposed to be 79090112013), washer, dryer, and refrigerator from them, and NONE have ever worked properly. You can't even put more than half a load in the washer without it going out of balance, and does not get the clothes clean.
Even after having the oven "fixed" it still didn't heat evenly, and now the back element blew on July 24th, prior to expiration of warrantee, (it also burnt a hole right through the bottom of my canning pot) which almost burnt my house down. Their "customer service" is nothing more than having the buck passed from one place to another, wit...h no resolution at all.
The entire unit is dangerous, not just defective. I won't even use it at this point for fear it will again try to burn down the house. The firemen who came are the ones who showed me that it was the element short circuiting that caused the fire. The photographer sent by claims lied to my face, so that didn't help. It is now August 1st, and all I get is bounced from one number to another, through Sears, Sedgwick, Electrolux, and back to Sears. No call back from any of numerous messages left, I just get disconnected after being on hold for 45 minutes etc. I am on a special diet so I need to cook at home, so this is affecting my health. I had to go buy a single burner just so I could eat, so they should pay me back that $20 as well. I just want this dangerous appliance out of my house, a safe range to cook on, a replacement canning pot, and reimbursed for the single burner. I am not asking for any additional amounts at this point, but am definitely due pain and suffering and emotional distress if this does go to court. At this point I would MUCH rather just get a refund for the stove so I can buy one from a much more reputable dealer. I want a refund for the stove (can't make out the price from the receipt as I don't understand their abbreviations and codes), my canning pot, and the single burner. I was at first willing to just trade up to a better model range, but after the way they have not honored the warrantee or their word, don't trust them enough and want to buy from someone else.
Electrolux, who made this piece of garbage is denying any claim because the photographer Sears sent out gave them doctored up photos, and they claim that a foil insert to protect the drip pan was the cause. There was no drip pan under that burner, but the other three did, but no problem with them short circuiting. The one that did had only been used 3 TIMES. The kicker is that I got ripped off from the get go when the sales clerk added numerous things to the bill, after I said I didn't want them. When I caught it, she said my card would be refunded, but it never was.
And yes, these junky appliances ARE STILL UNDER WARRANTEE, but that is useless because they don't honor it.
The range blew on July 24th, and I still haven't had it repaired or anything else, just a run around. Not cool when a person can't have salt, so I can't just go eat out or grab something to microwave.
