My mother is an elderly lady who has had the extended warranty with Sears Roebuck for many many years. Everything she has bought from them is covered. She spends over $600.00 a year to keep everything under warranty now.
She has been having problems out of her washing machine for some time now. A Sears Tech would come out and a few months would have to come out again, now Sears is giving my mother the round around she spoke with some guy name "Larry" ID# 531285 (at the cooperate office) who was nasty and very unprofessional to my mother enough for her to call me in my state upset, (she is in TX I am in SC.
My mother has been a Sears customer for years and for this young kid to disrespect my mother and give her the round around is bad business. After my mother asked to speak to someone higher than him, his reply he is the cooperate office.
It is a shame that big businesses like sears take advantage of the elderly. I will get involved now to see why she is being given the round around.

Since I last posted my compalint, my mother has canceled ALL contracts with Sears. After talking to one of the (Sears)technicians (that I went to high school with), I replaced the washing machine, stove, refrigerator and air conditioner and purchased her an extended warranty and non are from Sears. Sears would come out at and never fix (completly) anything and after getting advice from a former classmate and Sears tehnician she would be a fool to continue to deal with Sears. When my mother has to go 2 weeks without using her washing machine and use public washers when she was paying for a warranty something is wrong and sears was the problem. I can not understand why continue to TRY to repair the washing machine that they have been working on for years.

Once again, you need to provide DETAILS and FACTS to help Sears out. All you are doing is saying someone was unprofessional and giving attitude.
1) What was wrong with the washer that required four or five repair visits? Was it the same problem? If so, what was the problem that could not be fixed? If there were multiple problems, what were they? How old is the washer? When did all the repair visits happen? (within one year, ten years, one month?)
2) When did your mother call Sears this last time?
3) What did your mother request?
4) What EXACTLY did Larry say that was "nasty and very unprofessional"?
5) What specifically happened that you feel exemplifies Sears giving your mom the "run around" or ripping her off?
You really need to provide Sears with this information in order for that company to evaluate the complaint and take action. Right now, it only looks like Larry may have told your mother that whatever was wrong with the washer no longer or never was covered by the warranty, so she got upset and called you.

If Sears comes to fix a washer more than 4 to 5 times, then it is clear either tech has not a clue what is wrong or she just purchased a lemon for a washer. Attitude to a paying customer is unprofessional, denying a customer to speak to someone else is unprofessional. Sears is too big of a company to try to rip off the elderly and thanks to this site others will know what some people have gone through and are going through. If Sears is not going to fix the washing machine right then replace it or stop accepting my mothers money for a warranty that is really no good. My mother called the Cooperate office and that is where the unprofessionalism comes from. I guess if that says a lot for those collect the big bucks.

It probably will help Sears address your complaint if you state
1) What was the problem with the washer;
2) When this conversation happened;
3) What your mother requested;
4) What EXACTLY Larry said that was "nasty and very unprofessional";
5) What specifically happened that you feel exemplifies Sears giving your mom the "run around".
Stating only vague conclusions that someone was disrespectful or gave your mom the RUN around or took advantage of the elderly is not useful to Sears in evaluating your letter.
