Shamrock Towing Ripoff Towed after 5 minutes in a store Westerville Ohio

I towed for years, and want to explain something. A trespass towing contract is binding by both the tow company and the client. If they pass a tow up, even for "a few minutes" they are in violation of their customer agreement. Managers watch to see if the tow-truck passes by violators and the towing company won't have the contract if they slack off. The managers set the parameters of the contracts, not the towing company. You may be too lazy to walk a few steps and are willing to inconvenience others, but the tow truck driver isn't so lazy as to leave your car there. And yes, the tow truck will "lurk" waiting for you to leave your car, it saves fuel. Most apartments require a fifteen minute or less response time, some places even less. This is an easy problem to avoid, just don't park where you're told not to.

I understand the responsive comments, but Nate is right - this company is very predatory and unjustly and unfairly tows 24/7. Many of the no parking signs, especially around campus, are either too old and rusted to read or (as was in my case) placed to far away from the parking spot to know a sign was even present. It's almost as if they hide the signs, or at least angle them, so you don't know they are there or they apply to your spot. The problem is you can argue all you want, but you won't get your car back until you pay the cash and most people can't do without a car while they try to fight it legally in the meantime. I won't bore anyone with the details of my situation (unless someone asks for them) but Nate - WHAT IS THE LOOPHOLE??? Thousands of us in town are dying to know!

You are admitting that you parked somewhere you are not supposed to. Just because you found some technical loophole to get your money back still says that you are the kind of jerk that will park where they see fit to even though they are completely aware they shouldn't.

I never said you parked in a handicap spot I said you seemed like the type that would and from the idiotic defense you just presented confirms it.

Since you think you know so much about me I guess you think you have the story all figured out. Well no you don't!!! I didn't park in a handicap spot. I parked in an apartment complex on The Ohio State campus. I looked for parking spots everywhere but parking down there is nearly impossible the walk into the store was at least 200 yards. The complex had several empty spots and I was not blocking any traffic, in fact, it was off a back alley.

And for your information I will be getting my money back because I am smart and I found a loophole. hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Nate you sound like one of those "special People" who the rules don't apply to. You obviously were a lazy SOB who couldn't park in a parking place because it was probably a whole 10 more steps to walk from a legitimate space into the store. It really pisses me off because jerks like you think they can do whatever they want even though it may inconvenience other people. Traffic has to drive around you or people crossing the road into the lot aren't seen as easy. But the again a jerk like you could probably care less.

It's nice to see a lot that tows immediately when most ignore you jerks and let you do what you want. I don't care if you are parked for 30 seconds or 30 minutes the fact you parked there is wrong. I think they should charge you 10 times the fine to give you jerks a message.

I'll bet you park in Handicap spots when there are no close spaces too.

Park in a no parking zone and you get towed. It doesn't say 10 minute parking.

If you parked in a legitimate parking space then sue, but I get the very distinct impression you thought you would be in and out before a tow truck could come. Too bad.
