Shell Gas (Mary Ave & Fremont Ave) Sunnyvale, CA - Overcharges, Incompetent Staff Shell Gas, rude employees that can't speak English, angry, bad, ripped me off Sunnyvale, California

I went to the nearest gas station on my way back to school from my house in November or December 2006. I tried to use their self serve pump with my credit card. I was told "Please See Attendant." I refused and tried again a couple more times.

At that point, "attendant" came out without me coming to get him. He was an angry man, probably middle eastern or eastern european. The typical sort of person working at a gas station. Rude and incompetent.

He began to shout at me. "EET NO WORK YOU PAY COSH" several times. I told him I only had my credit card. I finally realized he was not saying "It no work" but "If no work" and he let me inside his store. He asked me how much I would need for the gas. I said $30. After I pumped by gas it ended up being about $25. He said he'd refund me for what I didn't need. At first it seemed like it would work. I would be charged for what I used and refunded for the rest.

However a couple days later I discovered I was ripped off. I was charged for the $25 and change I needed, and then there was a second charge for $4 and some change, totaling to the $30 I said I needed in gas. Thus, instead of a refund, he charged me twice.

Gas stations need to hire competent people who speak English and know the area they live in. Instead they hire angry foreigners. Traditionally if you were lost you went to the gas station for directions. But now, the guys just have no idea how to help you.
