Shell Overcharge San Clemente, California

I stopped at the Shell Station to fill up with gas.  I went inside to get a fountain drink.  The sign on the machine said "22 oz drinks, $.99.  I got a 22 oz cup and made a fountain drink and went to the counter to pay.

My husband was pumping the gas and had paid for it with a credit card.  The hispanic man behind the counter said " that will be $1.19".  I said "the sign says .99 and the tax here is not 20%".  He said "I don't care what it says, it will be $1.19". 

We are only talking about .11 here but . . .

I again pointed out the sign to him and he repeated that it I wanted the drink, it would be $1.19.

I told him I was going to report him and left without my drink.

Things are getting downright ridiculous.
