Silvergate Financial Services Silvergate almost ripped me off! Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Thank goodness for rip-off report, I was so close to being a victim of Silvergate Financial until I did a search today on PCH.com. This was my last of many seaches tring to find info on this company and research did pay off!

I was tring to obtain a personal loan of 5,000 and had filled out some online applications, the only response I received was from Todd Morton who said he represented Silvergate Financial. He left a message on my home phone saying he had found a lender and a phone number to call him back. Before I made the return phone call I tried numerous internet searches and came up empty every time. I did call him back and he said that they had found a private lender for the 5 grand but that the lender would require 6 months of payments as collateral. I inquired as to his company's where abouts and how to find the website and agreed to let them fax me a contract. I did find the website and he told me they were located in Philadelphia, PA. No contact info on the website once I finally found it though. First red flag! Todd told me he had another client on the line and would call me back, sure enough he did, caller id said the call was coming from Ontario, Canada. Second red flag!

I did receive a contract via fax and it looked legitimate but a lot of things had left a bad taste in my mouth about this company, thank you Rip Off Report for finally giving me an answer to my questions! This is one consumer not scammed and one who will tell the entire world about Silvergate Financial!
