SiriusXM called me every single day for the past 8 days to renew my subscription. When I finally answered the call to ask them to stop calling me, the telemarketer told me that this was a collections call.
Hmm, I did not authorize a renewal and remember explicitly telling the agent the last time that I renewed to NOT have my account auto-renew.
I asked how much was owed. She said $108. I knew from the last renewal attempt on their part that this was the full price for a renewal, not for a month or two late. I countered and said, "NO, I do not want to renew it, how much to settle the account?" She replied, "$12". First lie, she tried to make me renew under the premise that this was a collections call.
Not certain whether I actually owed anything, I decided to pay $12 and have them remove me from all future calls. I gave my bank card number and she forwarded me to the account management department so that I could cancel my subscriptions.
The lady I spoke with to cancel my subscriptions informed me that both vehicles were in fact inactive, that my accounts had been settled 6 months prior, and that there was not an outstanding balance.
I panicked, thinking I'd given my debit card number to a phishing scam. I had to cancel my debit card as a result.
Lies, Lies, Lies. If SiriusXM were to have straight-forward, honest communications (show respect for its customers) I would put forth the exorbitant costs and renew my subscriptions. Because SiriusXM chooses to use deceptive practices to rake its customers of cash, I will NEVER renew. I will wait for them to become irrelevant like the cable TV companies and poor my resources into above-board companies who choose to engage in open and honest practices. Now I have to take precious time out of my busy schedule to report their fraud to any private or government entity that could make a difference. May they suffer a painful demise and soon! Lower than dirt. How do the executives of this worthless company sleep at night?
