Snap Fitness SNAP FITNESS Cancellation FRAUD & Savings account THEFT!!! Algonquin Illinois

I joined Snap Fitness in Algonquin Illinois on Dec.31,2008.I was told that if I was paying cash, I would still need a checking or savings acct. number as a default,and that the savings acct. would not be touched unless I gave prior permission.I paid cash up front for a 6 month membership,and then got an extra month free of charge.Which means my membership would be up in July and was told by the owner that after my prepaid time was over my membership card would be inactive.

Three months later,my daughter was diagnosed with a possible fatal illness.I called the Facility and spoke with an employee that worked there ,and clearly knew who I was since I was there almost everyday.I explained my situation ,and let them know I WOULD NOT be back to the facility.They told me they would take care of it and took my name and number and told me they would pass it on to the manager.I was never told to come in and return my membership card.In February 09,I recieved a call from the manager ,asking for my Feb.09 payment.I had no idea what she was talking about.Come to find out,they had been taking over $50.00 a month out of my savings account for the past 7 months!!I never once recieved an invoice ,reciept or phone call telling me this was going on.

After speaking to the manager,she refused to give me a number for the owner and told me "it wasn't her fault that I wasn't keeping an eye on my personal finances".I called corporate several times,and they said that all clubs are independantly owned and there was nothing they could do,and that they would try to have the owner contact me. The owner finally called and said,"sorry , theres nothing we can do for you"She said that it was explained to me in detail that I would be charged out of my savings account until I had come in to sign a release formand returned my membership card,and that they do not accept cancellations over the phone.By the end of the conversation,She cancelled me over the phone, and they refused to refund any money they have STOLEN ,and denied that "one of their employees" would have agreed to cancell me over the phone.In conclusion,I'm out of almost $400.00, and this company is A FRAUD!!They steal money and don't give you the information you need when signing up.I URGE YOU TO STAY AWAY FROM SNAP FITNESS!!
