Upon utilizing a $19 Groupn 3-month Trial, I entered this location to begin my trial. I signed a form stating my name, address, etc. I was then asked for a credit card to begin the service. After having a conversation about Groupon, what a trial is, and how I would not be providing that information, I was instructed that it was for the DEPOSIT of my electronic key card. I told Justin (owner) that the $50 in cash should suffice shouldn't it? Justin agreed and we continued.

I asked Justin THREE times what the $50 was for. He repeated EACH time that it was for the electronic key card. I asked if it was a DEPOSIT and if I would get it back after the trial. Justin said YES each time.

fast forward to now, Justin has magically forgotten this conversation, instructs me that the $50 is a FEE, nonrefundable, and to basically suck it up and go fly a kite. We had a nice and polite (sarcasm) conversation regarding why the sudden change. He falls behind the phrase "that's a $200 program you got for only $70". He also throws out this gem "what would you do if the cable company do if you called and asked for money back on channels you didn't watch?" My response was, "well, did they add the channels without asking me, charge me for them, and tell me tough luck?" Conversation went back to "it's not a deposit" as soon as he realized he's just throwing smoke and hoping I"ll just end the call.

In the end, Justin appears to be a bit of a d*uchery bagger. I have been in contact with a few other friends who have had similar silly, juvenile, misguided, completely disrespectful, and just all around naieve conversations with this jackhole.

I recommend avoiding this gym all together. There is a reason ripoffreport, BBB, yahoo local, etc...... list keeps going on........ of bad experiences. Ask yourself this, have you had a bad experiences other places and saw as many negative instances as Snap throughout the internet?

Good luck in your search for a gym. I hope you don't provide any business to these jackwagons.

Please disregard negative words, phrases and dispositions against Justin and Snap Fitness.

Original post was written in haste and I'm trying everything available to get this off the website.

If you know of any way to help me, please let me know. It's not fair to Snap Fitness or Justin to have this remain.

Thank you.

after reviewing my comments yesterday, I would like to attempt to remove or edit the previous post. I found my receipt that stated "Activation Fee " and $50 next to it. I was under the impression it was a deposit, but do not have paperwork to support.

Please disregard this as human error. Snap Fitness did nothing legally wrong.

Thank you

Snap Fitness Groupon deal

AUTHOR: dante - (United States of America)

received a $19 3-month trial that an additional $50 was required from gym. Was told it was a deposit, when went to retrieve was actually a fee. Seemed odd at the time, but didn't think twice about it. Can't pursue further because it has $50 next to the line on the form that says 'activation fee'. Please read contracts carefully.
