Sprint PCS Fraud international roaming charges by sprint without buying international servive plan Ripoff Reston Virginia
*UPDATE Employee: Some helpful hints regarding lost phones and "fraudlent" charges.
Sprint pcs is charging me $2300 for an international fraud roaming charges from a lost phone for the service that I have never purchased. I was a customer only for domastic national plan. This is clear cut voilation of contract of their terms and conditions. They have also removed spending limit from my account without informing me, and now they are not taking responsibility of this fraud. Their customer service staff is rude, unprofessional and hard to get hold. I will never buy their service againt. I am also exploring legal options to fight with them

#1 UPDATE Employee
Some helpful hints regarding lost phones and "fraudlent" charges.
AUTHOR: Christopher - (U.S.A.)

I work as a CSR in a call center for sprint/nextel.
The statements are my own experience and known policies and procedures.
I have to ask the cardinal question when i see "fraudulent" charges on an account regarding a lost phone.
Did you report the phone lost/stolen in a timely manner to sprint and have the unit suspended?
If you didn't you are actually liable for the charges. You may be able to get them removed if you can substantiate the phone was lost/stolen prior to the charges being incurred. This generally requires a police report prior to the date(s) of the charges.
Think of it this way, if your car is stolen and it causes a wreck, but the thief gets away, and leaves no evidence, who's liable for the wreck?
Yep that's right you are, unless you can prove that the car wasn't in your possession at the time, and wasn't in use with your consent.
Sorry if it's not what you wanted to hear, but unfortunately situations like this do happen, and on a personal level i always recommend to our customer to suspend the service immediately if the phone is lost or stolen. other wise the charges are valid.
No matter what carrier you are with, as soon as you realize you don't have your phone, call into your customer care and have the service suspended or restricted.
then if you have insurance, file the claim immediately. don't wait for the next bill to come out and get a shocker when you get nailed with a massive bill. because unfortunately the charges are yours unless you can prove that you didn't have the phone at the time.
