Square Trade Square Trade won't honor their paid for Warranty San Francisco California

Bought a 55" Samsung Smart TV (new) on Amazon in September 2014. Paid $830.00 for it. Also bought the Square Trade 5 year warranty for an additional $106.00. Two days ago both DMI Ports failed. When I contacted them they said probably caused by a power surge or ligtning and that event is not covered under the Warranty. "Too bad, so sad."

Offered to refund to me the prorata share of the remaining warranty time of one year one month. Me, "Huh?" Why don't you just honor your warranty? I am tired of battles. Just accepting I got scammed by these crooks. BBB gives them an A+ Rating but lists over 1,000 complaints. How does this happen? NEVER, NEVER BUY A WARRANTY from SQUARE TRADE!!!! Am taking the TV to a local repoair shop who said they'd replace The HDMI Module inside for around $200 to $240.00. SQUARE TRADE = BUYER BEWARE!
