In the year of 2000 we purchased a 2000 mustang GT, black on black with leather interior and AC for the sticker price of $27,500. We put $6000 down and or payments came out to $442.42 a month.
within 2 years the PVC Valve that controles the cars idol speed had to be replaced and the pinion gear on the rear differential had to be replaced that is two mecanical problems and the car has less then 25,000 miles.
Because of this we went back to the dealer to see if we could trade it in for a 2002 Ford focus this car is advertized on tv for $1,500 down and payments of $319 a month. the stiker price is $16,500 for the car. our mustang is blue booked at $18,500 But we still owe $14,000 on the car.
I took the car in and the dealer had it appraised for its value, and to see if we could trade it for the ford focus so that we could lower our payments. The sales consultant George Manduley went back to work some numbers so that we could make a deal and returned about 15 minutes later with the figures.
He told me that if i put $1,500 down my payments would be $419 a month for 5 years. I asked him to make a copy of the figures so I could show them to my spouse and he told me that he couldn't give me a copy. They want me to give them a car that worth more then the on Im driving away away in and charge me more then what its advertized for on tv.
I was affended buy what they were proposing and will never purchase another ford from this dealer.
I wish they would of gave me a copy of the figures so that I could paste them all over the internet

It really is your fault for letting them do all the math and buying only on "Monthly Payment". In my opinion you have no arguement other than that the first car was a pile of crap. They didn't hold a gun to your head to make you signj did they? You could have shopped around. You could have switched makes entirely. Also, try buying what you can afford.
