I purchased tickets on 2/14/07 for the New York Rangers/Chicago Blackhawks hockey game for Feb. 18th, 3:30 pm, at Madison Square Garden. I paid $235 for (2) tickets in section 101/G.

Come the morning of the February 18th, a representative named Alicia contacted me at approximately 9:20 AM and left a message regarding my tickets. I called back and spoke with Alicia who told me that the seller of my tickets may not have dropped off the tickets yet and they wanted to try and find me comparable or better seats.

About five minutes after I spoke with Alicia, I spoke with another gentleman (of whom I do not know the name) who offered me better tickets at section 32A. He asked if I would accept the offer and placed me on hold to verify that the seller was still selling them and that I would indeed get the tickets. He came back to announce that I had the tickets and to pick them up at 104 E. 40th St. 2 hours before the event.

At approximately 1:30 pm on Feb. 18th, I picked up the hard copy of the tickets (Section 32A). At approximately 3:05 pm that day, I tried to enter Madison Square Garden with my tickets, and I was directed to the ticket window. A woman named Sari told me that my tickets were sold to someone else and that I had to take it up with Stubhub.

She saw how upset I became and offered to call the seller. She spoke with the seller who told her that he sold the same tickets on a different website, and said he called Stubhub and instructed Stubhub not to sell them to me; to give me a refund.

I then immediately called Stubhub at 1-888-788-2482, and spoke with Raphael, who told me that indeed my tickets were sold and there was nothing he could do. Just like that. I asked him if I could speak with someone else, there had to be another solutionbut he told me he was the end all be all of Stubhub. I asked him if I could have the number for a corporate office, and I was denied.

I was sold duplicate tickets, aka fake tickets. In my eyes stubhub's customer service is an outrage. I was defrauded.

How can a company take money for something they cannot gaurentee? Funny enough, their e-mail confirmation bears the line" ***Reminder: Your Tickets are 100% GUARENTEED***.

Disgusting. The company sent me a compaint form to fax back to them. I faxed them today demanding a full refund. I will post a follow up.

Stubhub may just be too big

AUTHOR: Marsh - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, April 16, 2007

Stubhub just sold for $310 Million to Ebay. Thus they are just too big for the average buyer like us. I found the owner of MafiaTickets.com to be helpful. He has an emergency after hours number and seems to be very honest about prices. You might want to no go with some huge company that can't even know whom they are dealing with.
