On Feb. 1, 2002 I took my Montero Sport in to get the antenna replaced and an oil change. I was later notified that I needed to have my rear brakes replaced.
When I picked up my truck that evening my antenna had even less functionality then when I brought it in. After speaking with a technician he admitted that he only completed 5 minutes of the 1 1/2 hours of the labor I was charged. Obviously, performing the antenna installation incorrectly. Finally, after several phone calls they agreed to replace my antenna for the second time.
On April 3, 2002 I took my truck into the Mitsubishi dealership for a complete tune up. I received a phone call from them stating that the rear brake pads that were recently installed where not the correct size.
I immediately contacted Sun Devil Auto. Terry, the current manager, said he did not begin work until Feb. 4 so he could not comment on my brake job but he would look at it. Due to their proven dishonesty and in competence I do not trust the opinion or performance of the individuals responsible.

Explanation of labor charges

For most jobs, auto shops use flatrate- meaning that the labor charge for a job is the same whether the technician takes 5 minutes or 5 hours to get it done. However, the flatrate time is usually somewhat indicative of how much work is involved (it's an estimate used across the industry). A 1.5 hour flatrate task should probably take a bit longer than 5 minutes, apparently the tech involved here did not get it done correctly.
