I took my car to Tanner Transmission to be fixed, and ended up taking the car back twice because the repairs were not made. Tanner Transmission kept the car for several days each time, and kept telling me they were waiting for parts and did not keep in contact with me regarding what was happening with the car. I desperately needed to get the car fixed right away, because I needed the car to drive to work which is an hour commute each way. There is not a bus route near my work.
After picking up the car from Tanner Transmission the second time, I drove the car to work and the transmission failed and subsequently caused engine damage. My co-worker and I pushed the car to Tanner Transmission, contacted them about the problem, and they refused to fix the car because of the engine damage, which they are claiming is not their fault. The engine damage was caused from the car down-shifting to first gear while going at freeway speed. I nearly wrecked the car when this happened.
I have contacted Tanner Transmission management and they refuse to fix the car. The car is still sitting at their shop waiting to be fixed, but they refuse to fix it.
I will never take a car back to this shop and will let everyone I know hear about this problem and warn them about the bad business conducted at this shop.
If you want to deal with honest mechanics who will fix your car in a timely manner, do not take it to Tanner Transmission.

engine problems

We did work on the car twice.
when mr brought the car back the engine had a rod knock, and was low on oil.
The transmission is still ok
Mr closed the lines of communacation.
Wish there was something i could do.

I was lucky, when the trans went in my truck I talked with several people and they were absolutely adament that I not go to Tanner. I took my vehicle to TSO transmission down the street in Roy. Not only did they do a great job, they kept me updated on what was going on, stood behind their work and even fixed an unrelated problem with my steering column for a minimal charge. Good Luck.

Tanner Transmission advertises a "Power Flush" transmission service telling customers that they will "feel the difference" after the service.
Unfortunately, it seems that the only Power Flush is you Power Flushing your money down the toilet at Tanner.
I would strongly advise a small claims court lawsuit for Sean, as Tanner has lost in court many times before in Utah.
