I took my car into the tire repair store - Tread Quarters - to repair a tire that had a nail in it. I had to add 20+ pounds of pressure to get the car to the shop safely.
The mechanic insisted there was nothing wrong with the tire, and had to be told by the boss to "take the tire off, pull and replace all the plugs (there was one), and replace the valve stem. I assumed that the mechanic did the repairs. I also asked that they rotate and balance the tires, as general maintenance.
They did not rotate my tires properly because the FLAT tire ended up on the front, same side, the next morning. They did not repair the tire properly. They did not rotate the tires properly. If they cannot handle tires, you should not trust them with anything harder! Incompetent and do not give a X#$@ about the customers. I have to wonder what might have happened if I had needed to travel out of town. May not be here to write ths.

I don't know about the competence of the tire repair, but

many times now, tires are meant to be "rotated" just front to back, remaining on the same side of the vehicle.
The older "X" rotation is seldom used due to the tire design.
What was wrong with the tire repair?
And, how did it affect your safety?
