I read about the person who had problems returning a pie saver seal to tupperware and I have also had trouble. I own a ton of tupperware products and I love most of them but soon after paying $16.99 for an ice cream scoop the metal surface began to pitt badly.

I contacted the company and they said that since the metal part was not made by them, it was not under their warranty. You can imagine what a fit I threw and finally they replaced it to shut me up.

Within a month or two of receiving the replacement its surface also started to pitt. Now the company refuses to replace the new one and I am not happy! I understand they did not make the metal part but if it is going to be a part of their product, it should be under the same guarantee.

It's no wonder that the company's sales are going down and their stock is going on a rapid downhill slide. It's a shame to see a company that's been around as long as this and had a reputation for quality be run into the ground by greed. I would like to know if other people are having similar problems with tupperware.

I would like to see the ice cream scoop if you still have it so maybe we can determine why this happened. I am a Tupperware Consultant and very proud of our products. I will be happy to either replace it with the latest model or to reimburse you what you paid. Please contact me. Thank you!!

katrina re. ice cream scoop , again ..not suprised at the comments

AUTHOR: Katrina - (U.S.A.)

After just reading the responses to my report about my pitted Tupperware ice cream scoop, I am not suprised at the comments. I have already heard the dishwasher theory and I'll tell you the same thing I told both the company reps that I dealt with at the time this started, I don't have a dishwasher and neither of my scoops have ever been in one. Having sold Tupperware before I know all the standard responses the company feeds consultants to keep from admitting fault. The reason I stopped selling was that I could not look people in the eye and try to convince them to pay outlandish prices for a product that they could find in any store at much less.

So sorry for your problem

I, also, am a very distinguished member of the Tupperware sales force. You can be assured that You should be able to get this scoop replaced again. An ice cream scoop has a 1 year QUALITY guarantee. Please contact a local consultant for a replacement. Also, in agreement with the other Tupperware consultantI must say that the product information insert will explain that the Ice Cream Scoop should be HAND WASHED> I also have owned a TUPPERWARE ice cream scoop for years and it has never "pitted".

Please be assured that Tupperware takes consumer opinion and product satisfaction very seriously and we want our people to be happy.
All other products DO carry a LIFETIME guarantee. You can't complain about a company who offers that!

#1 Consumer Suggestion

Protect your Tupperware with proper care

AUTHOR: Sallie - (U.S.A.)

Tupperware has long been a product demonstrated in-home by trained consultants and this is with good reason. As part of the demo, a consultant explains proper care and usage of Tupperware products and this is simply something that is not possible when an item is purchased over the internet. However, along with each piece of Tupperware comes a DETAILED information sheet that most people toss in the trash. As a former Tupperware consultant, I know this for a fact. Tupperware makes an awesome Ice Cream scoop, in fact, one of our best-selling items. It is important to note that the scoop portion is coated with chrome in order to glide thru the frozen ice cream. I have never seen one of Tup's Ice cream scoops "pit" UNLESS it was washed in the dishwasher! (We would never wash our chrome trimmed cars with Dishwasher detergent!) For this reason EVERY consultant knows to advise their customers that they recommend HAND-WASHING the ice cream scoop.

PS- I have hand washed my scoop for over 6 years and it looks brand new! And for better service...contact a sales consultant. She'll appreciate it and you'll get better service!
