A door to door salesman from TXU came to my home selling the TXU services. He promised a $350 refund or cashback for a 10 cent average per Kw. Neither promised things occurred. I never received the $350 refund and my average bill comes out to 12.6 Cents/Kw. After several hours of complaining they have just dismissed my me and only gave $75 back. Please let this company die. Don't let a company that bears the name of Texas misrepresent Texas and all that it's worth. In Texas we need companies that keep their word at any cost. Go to Washington DC if you want to cheat. That is NOT how we do business here in Texas!
On top of the that I am paying 9 times more on TDU charges than with my previous company! Unbelievable!

About 3 yrs ago I had a salesman come to my door stating basically the same thing as above. I did receive a 200.00 pre-paid Visa. But then the problems started.crazy fees for things no one could explain and my bill was over 400.00 for 4 months in the summer and we were with Reliant for 10 yrs. and never had a bill that high.
I never got the 9.6kw I was offered and when putting a roof on my deck I had to have the electrical wires moved to a new pole and they scheduled a cut-off time and reconnect date/time. They cut the power off a day late and when the job was finished I had to get aperture it to have it turned on and was redirected to Centerpoint 5 times who in turn said it was TXUs responsibility. My 80 yr old mother had to endure 100+ temps for almost 3 days while I finally got the electric turned on. The pole was moved 3ft. That is all that was done.
Finally I was fed up and cancelled and went back to Reliant which paid me the 200.00 switch fee. Centerpoint called me while I was boarding a plane and I said I will return your call when I land and she said no we need to discuss the terms now. I had paid my bill in full but owed the early disconnect fee so I gave the woman 50.00 and said I would pay it back 50.00 every month until it was paid in full. 4 day later I received a letter from a collection agency
. They are a joke. My electric bill is back to being affordable and if anyone considers TXU please STOP and DON'T DO IT! I don't know of anyone who has ever had a positive experience with TXU. If it sounds too good to be true it generally is!
