Uhaul Uhaul Storage and Truck Rental Abuse Bad Attitude Terrible Customer Service Frustration Poughkeepsie New York

The problem I have been having with Uhaul has lasted several months. It started when I obtained a Uhaul self storage unit in 2560 South Road, Poughkeepsie, New York in or around May of 2016. Every time I opened my unit, the building theft alarm would go off and it would leave my ears ringing for an hour after I left the storage. The health part of the complaint I'm making is that I think I may have suffered some hearing loss from this. I complained to the store manager Rob at the Poughkeepsie, NY location, I also complained to the 1-800 customer service number, and I called corporate at the Phoenix, AR location a few times about this issue and explained my health concern and customer service issue. They just gave me the run around, said it would be fixed and that same problem still exists today. I have to literally where ear plugs to go to my storage unit.

They never fixed the problem and the employees at the store location in Poughkeepsie, NY act like its not there problem and there's nothing they can do. I get this same attitude from the corporate office. Today on 10/11/2016, I went to the location and decided to rent a bigger unit because I have more things and I did not want to move the existing storage items to a new location although it seemed very tempting. I rented a unit at Uhaul in Poughkeepsie NY a few spaces down from my existing unit. I had a truck to bring more items, and saw there was a lock on the unit I just rented. I called uhaul and they said, "no problem, just go to office down the road, and they will take the lock off". I went to the office and the man working there, "Theres nothing we can do, come back tomorrow". Im very fustrated. Uhaul refuses to resolve these issues and I wasted time loading up a truck to go to the new storage unit and although, there was more than 1 employee in the store that could have removed the lock like customer service said, they wouldn't. Why did they rent me this space if I can't access it? Makes no sense! This is abuse!
