Universal Gas & Electric is a scam! Southfield, MI & Toronto, Canada Michigan & Canada

Universal Gas & Electric sent a very polite, professional young saleswoman to my door to sell this scam. I'm ashamed to say, it worked not only on myself but several of my neighbors. They promise you cheap rates and are guaranteed to be as cheap or cheaper than Consumers Energy for the next 5 years because they buy so much gas to supply us. I specifically asked if I could cancel at any time if I didn't like it and she assured me that it would be no problem. She neglected to tell me it was only 'no problem' if you kindly pay their $250 cancellation fee! I have been trying to get rid of them for over a month now with no luck as I am NOT paying them $250. They have already cost me an additional $150 just in the last 2 months. I have complained to the BBB and to the Attorney General's office. I also had Fox 2 News to my home as they are investigating this scam. If anyone has any helpful advice, or an attorney....please let me know.
