UPS left my package in between the entrance doors of apartment and package was stolen. Never got a package notice. Watertown, New York

I ordered a package from Melaleuca the Wellness Company on August 21, 2009. I have been ordering from them once a month since April 09. I have always received a notice if I have missed the package when it was delivered.

This past week I waited and checked every day for my notice but never received one. After a week had gone by from the day I ordered I knew something was not right because I always have my package within 5 days of my order. I checked online to see that the status of my package was delivered! I couldn't believe this when I had never signed for a package and had not even received any notice! It said the package was left at the front door. In my apartment build you have two sets of doors to get through and one needs a key from the tenants. So whoever delivered the package left it right by the door where everyone on the street has access to it and everyone in the building!

I called Melaleuca to inform them of what happened and they said they would try to send me another package. I also went to the UPS store and they told me to file a claim. In which they were not helpful at all for leaving the package outside of the inside of the apartment building! They just said talk to Melaleuca to help you when it was UPS who just left my package there for anyone to take!

UPS needs to take responsibility for leaving my package in a place that is against UPS policy! How do I know that packages that I haven't ordered havn't been stolen since I don't have a tracking number? If people send gifts and they have a tracking number how am I to know about it being stolen or not? UPS needs to pay for their mistake or leaving my package for anyone to take!
