US Search "24-Hour Pass" charges you for unlimited searching, but provides only names and physical addresses, which you can get for free elsewhere! Culver City California

I needed the email address of someone. I went to US Search and was going to pay to get the individual's email address for like $1.95 or something like that, when I was offered its "unlimited 24-hour pass" wherein I could do "unlimited searches". Well, I need some email addresses of old friends and the like, right? So I went ahead and paid for the 24-hour pass.

Then, I started looking for the person I was interested in, as I needed that person's email address right away. NOPE! All I got was (drum-roll) ... his name and address -- plus a bunch of old addresses from the past, oh, I don't know, 30 years or so. But no email address.

Now I'm aggitated. So I start putting in other names of people whose email addresses I'd like to have -- maybe inputting a total of 10 names. Got back 8 -- you guessed it! -- names and physical addresses, just like the one above -- no email address for anyone. For the two other people, I put in their names and got back ... their names. Helluva service, huh?

Now I'm pissed.

I fire off an email to the company stating I'm not getting what I wanted or paid for. The company responds, and part of the response from customer service reads "... The 24 hour pass search is done by yourself by logging in our website and you can do unlimited searches. It provides only the name, address ..." What the hell?!?

I write back asking how they've avoided the BBB and FTC with this crap, since I can get people's physical addresses for free via about 100 search engines, and I tell them I want an immediate refund. That's where it stands right now.

DON'T USE THIS COMPANY! Whatever it is you are looking for about someone, you are going to pay through the nose for. And I mean EVERYTHING. The company has a whole menu of ala carte and packaged items you can pay for that supposedly will get you reports that would otherwise be unavailable to you. Like the person's name and address ... ???
