One Call Comm and their clearing house USBI have an arragement whereby a fraudulent internet site can hijack your computer dialer and make charges to an overseas number. In this case, on Aug 29, 04 it was to the UK phone number 442073350525 for exactly 20min and 0 seconds at a charge of $45.43 plus tax. This was the first day I used a home computer.
I did look at an adult website but I did not dial up any such call. I didn't give any authorization for such a call either. I did see some kind of spyware advertisement and, being totally unaware of what that kind of thing is, I clicked on the add. My phone company removed the charges for the call.

Trying to find the criminal
AUTHOR: Darrell - (U.S.A.)

It looks like USBI may not have anything to do with this. After being on-hold several times today I have no way of talking to a human being at USBI so for now I have to assume USBI isn't involved. Google searches have led me to the same websites and names as some of the other victims of this scam. I'll leave an update to others here in a few days when I find out more. I want to find who's pocketing my money. I already know who's collecting the money for the criminals.
