When I originally bought service from Verizon; I purchased a PDA phone and a companion phone. I bought insurance which was charged to my american express card. The sales person explained that if anything happened to the phone that I only had to call and a replacement phone would be sent to me by FedX.

So much for that B.S. I dropped my phone after about one year, I called and the finger pointing started. I was told that Verizon did not handle the insurance claims. They gave me a number to call and "hocus pocus" the company I called simply said that they had
no record of my insurance. I called Verizon and they said that they did not have a record of my insurance either. I read them the receipt number and the amount of the insurance.

Verizon then gave me the phone number of another insurance company, which I called and superise of superises they said "we do not have you listed as being covered either". I called Verizon and they said that they would get it straightened out; that was in Aug 03 and I am still waiting. I called Verizon again in Sept 03 and said that I wanted to pay the bill that they were sending me.

I have been paying for a Goddamn service that I cannot use. They gave me an amount which I put on my AE card. I also cancelled my conpanion phone service (or so I thought). P.S. they are still billing me for the companion service. It is important to note that the amount I had them bill to my AE card was supposed to be
the entire amount I owed. It turned out to be another suprise; they credited the payment to my companion phone account which was supposed to be closed.

I also relayed my sorry story to Mary Johnson on the Sept 20, 03; she promised me that I would receive a replacement phone for the damaged PDA by Thursday of the following week. Needless to say the replacement PDA never came, I had to call the company back to find out why. I was told that they had no record of my payment and they were not interested in the control number that they had given me. It took some thought; however, I asked them to check my account and see if the payment had been credited to the wrong account, and like freaking magic there it was credited to the companion phone that I had asked to be terminated.

I called back on Sept 28, 03 and talked to Rashida and told her I had not received my replacement PDA and did not want to do business with Verison any more. She hung-up on me. I then contacted the Financial Department and was told by Mike that to cancel my account I would have to call customer service.

When I called billing they said that I would have to pay an additional $175.00 to shut off my service early. I was under the impression that this "screw you" fee was not charged after 2 years. I was told the the time limit was now 3 years. I told Tracy in Rancho Cordova the entire situation and told her I did not care about the disconnect fee.

I exercised extreme control and told her I simply wanted out of any kind of interaction with Verison. She took my information and billed the costs to my AE card. She also gave me a control number. She assured me that I would get two letters reflecting the termination of both accounts within the next week. P.S. They never came!

You might be able to imagine my disgust when I got my bills for both accounts I have cancelled; reflecting monthly access fees and related charges. What does a person have to do to be treated in a respecful way when dealing with these scum-bags.
