Verizon Wireless Verizon continues to advertise what they don't deliver; IT'S AGAINST THE LAW! New York City, New York

    Verizon continues to over sell their Internet services which they cannot deliver.

    Their Internet services advertise 4G, yet they still do not have 4G in an area where even Clearwire has 4G service (of sorts.)  I'm told by the Verizon store that the tower is already available for 4G but they have not turned it on, yet I'm paying for 4G service and getting less than, at times, what my 64k baud modem used to get with 3G.

   Verison speeds since August 2012 have become worse and worse, as they sell more and more without increasing (apparently) the capacity of the tower to allow such traffic. Below is my latest speed test.  I cannot get a stream of anything. Verizon's own speed test fails because it takes too long for it's server to download the test program...and times out.

It took more than two minutes to download a 9.9Mb file to upgrade Firefox.

Clearwire has settled the class action suit against them for the same reasons we now have Verison to bring to task for failing their customers expectations while ripping them off with high payments for less and less speed and service.

   Even their wireless modem which I use to connect did not work, after quite a few times on the phone, things still didn't work out, they sent me a new (reconditioned) modem that didn't work, they finally sent me their newest 4G modem.  That's working, but the speed is at a crawl...most likely because the oversold capacity of the tower antenna.

   I cancelled my cellphone with them, simply because prepaid service was cheaper and gave me the same service. If there was a prepaid Internet service, I'd go with them; already had three years with Clearwire which couldn't keep a connection in bad weather or wind. Signed up for Verizon which is certainly more reliable in terms of being connected, but is even slower than Clearwire was.

   My own feeling is that given their ability and available money, Internet service, even wireless, as is should be totally free; about the speed of dial up.
