MAY,5/2006 -my daughter went to Bestbuy to get Verizon wireless family plan with 2 free phones sharing 700 mnts for $70 plus 10 addittional line. on 6/06 they charged her $70 each for 3 lines totalling $220. the third lione was illegally added when the computer froze. they also charged her 200 for messaging she never used. 35 each for 3 lines in taxes totalling $105. $200 for the 3rd line. verizon charged $500.00 for a line and $300 for the 2nd line now they want 600 dollars more to terminate the 2 year contract. she was overcharged fraudulent charges.
I also have the same plan and I never used the second line but they charged me $500.00 anyway. they charged me 150 dollars for messaging I never used. verizon is dishonest and they said that the cell phones are free but they overcharge you in order for you to pay for the phone during the first bill that's why you will see the fraudulent charges. WE DON'T GIVE A @#$@ AND WE DON'T PAY A PENNY. WE CONTACTED FCC and went the credit report will receive the bad report, we will dispute it with the DEPARTMENT OF CONSUMERS AFFAIRS and ATTORNEY GENERAL.

I, Like Justin am more then willing to help any customers that feel they truely need it. With that offer comes some limitations. I can only access accounts in what we consider to be the Northeast Area, this includes New England, NY, PA, MD, DE, DC, NJ, and VA. I give permission for the webmaster to release my personl email address to anyone writing a request. I do not however extend this offer to anyone that does not want to pay for $95 worth of downloads youkids did, or the $100's of "premium text messaging" you or your child subscribed to inadvertanty or otherwise. I'd be more than happy to tell you how to unsubscribe, and who to go after for the refund, but I can guarentee, I'll have a hell of a time getting it approved.

Marilyn is making a very bad assumption here.
If you burn 1 carrier, it will be extremely difficult if not impossible to open a new account at another carrier. Even if they will open one, you will have to pay a huge deposit.
I would suggest working harder in resolving the problem, instead of developing an attitude. Attitude gets attitude.
I have been a Verizon customer for several years. Twice, I broke a contract AFTER explaining a situation to them, and TWICE they waived the early termination fee. Verizon is very easy to deal with if you speak to them in a civil manner.
I am now with another carrier since the service I wanted was not available here with Verizon.
And, I do not work for Verizon or any other carrier.

Well, Steven, I live in Brooklyn, NY. I also have an already paid off MH in Catskill Mountains, UPSTATE NY. My car it has been paid off, so I owe nothing. TUCSON, Arizona is from where Verizon Wireless was sending me the bills. Because I owe a MH doesn't means that I have to live in there, it could be seasonal or for vacations. I know that not MH are allowed in NY CITY and in Brooklyn is where I work and live. so if you don't believe it, I REALLY DON'T CARE. Because you have problems with Verizon that doesn't mean that Cingular Wireless, SPRING, T. MOBILE, ETC are going to reject you. I have another wireless provider with contract with rollover minutes. Pre-paid phones are also good options, why not? We are four. My husband and I we needed 2 telephones one each and the Family 700 shared mnts. only included 2 telephones, so for my two daughters, they took the same plan. I ended up paying all the charges, because I know that it would affect my credit. WHAT I CAN SAY. VERIZON WON AND I LOST. Never again in my life I will make bussiness with them. That's right we sometimes sign contract without haven't read it completely. Yes, I LOST, BUT KNOW I AM RELIEF THAT I OWE VERIZON NOTHING. THANK YOU FOR NOTHING. However, you claim to be in Brooklyn. I have not seen ANY mobile homes in Brooklyn, especially on 2 acres. Simply does not exist. Did you mean TUCSON? Why is your signature falsely representing that you are in Brooklyn? Or you are in Tucson, and your daughter is in Brooklyn.
And, did you really expect to get a 2 phone family plan on a 700 minute plan and not go way over your minutes?
If your daughter was in store, they would have reviewed the agreement with her and a signature is reuired. Why were these discrepancies on the 2 extra lines not caught BEFORE signing?
Maybe YOU should have gone to the Best buy/Verizon store and made the order instead of sending your daughter.

Here's the deal with not paying on a cell account. You will never be able to get an account with any other provider until it is paid, and if in collections you will not get one for a very long time even if you do pay it.
Looks like prepaid phones are in your future.

I have worked for several different wireless phone companies in the billing department, and also am a consumer of wireless phones with a different company so I am familiar with how three of the companies work.
Let me start by saying that imho the sales personnel get a little carried away when they are trying to sign you up for service, as far as the activation costs, cancellation fees and monthly charges go. Everything you need to know about the service and fees are listed in the literature you get when you leave the store or recieve the phones in the mail.
Verizon now sends copies of terms and conditions and letters telling you any changes made to the account even if you add or remove a single feature. if you don't agree with the changes you should call them. All the companies I have worked for or used have excellent websites with information not to mention 24 hr customer service with an 800 number.
I have spent most of my working life explaining to customers and even reading verbatim these terms and conditions which are written in plain english but the yelling customers tell me they don't have time to read all that stuff. Well that's why it's sent out.
The first month's bills are generally higher because they are generally longer than 1 month and have activation fees but this is offset by the fact that you are getting new phones at a steep discount for your commitment.
I've also learned myself that if I don't pay a bill and it goes to a collection agency, down the road it is going to cause me grief when I try to get a home loan or furniture because it stays on my record. Even my car loans were charged higher interest because of a bad judgement call on my part.

I ADMITTED THAT THE TERMINATION FEES ARE WRITTEN IN THE CONTRACT, BUT YOU REALLY CHARGE TOOOO MUCH FOR A d**n MONTH OF SERVICE... 350 DOLLARS THE FIST MONTH FOR TWO LINES, THAT'S RIDICULOUS.
WE GOT 5 LINES, BUT WE ARE NOT RICH PEOPLE. WE NEVER THOUGHT THAT YOU WERE GOING TO RIPP OFF LIKE THAT. C.W. IS THE MOST RELIABLE COMPANY THAT NEVER HAD SURPRISED US WITH OVERBILLING. I GOT IT 2 YEARS BEFORE YOU AND I TRIED YOU. YOU SURPRISED US WITH MORE THAN 1 THOUSAND IN BILL CHARGES THE VERY FIRST MONTH. I CAN NOT PUBLICATE MY BILL ONLINE ANY WAY, IF I COULD I WOULD, but I don't know how.

Because you wrote lengthy gibberish and so far have not provided an accurate breakdown of anything i extend my offer again to personally look at your acoount. Thats it, no intimidation at all, and it never happened in the first place. Verizon is the number one wireless company and we get calls daily from people who not only misunderstand the service but then like yourself go off half-cocked screaming were doing something illegal... the truth is they don't want to pay... so if you seriously have a problem give me a way to contact you and i will call and look otherwise quit attacking my company unless you provide solid proof here of your gripes.

Verizon gave me a credit of 48 dollars only when I complained to ELIOT SPITZER, NY ATTORNEY GENERAL. At the same time AG and FTC did something innappropiated... they faxed Verizon my home phone number which is privated, DO NOT CALL REGISTERED and provided by another company.. now VERIZON WIRELESS and his debt collection agency ALLIED Interstated can harrass me by phone Thank you to the negligency of these agencies that are suppossed to protect your privacy.
I menaced VERIZON WIRELESS and Allied Interstated and they have stopped this practice. I want all of you know that because you never can win. BECAREFUL because Verizon Wireless charge you even if you play games on your cell phone. They charged me $95.00. My new cell provider which is really honest..the only one who offer roll over minutes..never have charged me to play games. Verizon are cheap, b*st*rds,and low lifes.

I am Marilyn and I wanted to update my situation. Customers we have to relize that when you sign a two years contract with Verizon Wireless it does specify a early termination charge of $175.00 per phone. I want everybody to be careful because now I must pay for these charges, but since I am so pissed off with Verizon I WANT PAY A PENNY. I AM NOT AFRAID OF BAD CREDIT REPORTS ON ME BECAUSE I AM NOT INTIMIDATE. I ALREADY HAVE A NEW CAR, A MOBILE HOME WITH 2 ACRES,ETC. SO I DON'T CARE ABOUT IF THEY DAMAGE MY CREDIT OR IF ALLIED INTERSTATE COLLECTION AGENCY KEEP CALLING ME OR CONTACTING ME BY MAIL.
FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION CHARGE YOU IF YOU WANT TO PROCCED WITH A FORMAL CHARGE AGAINST VERIZON. ATTORNEY GENERAL SAID THAT THEY FAX YOUR COMPLAINT TO VERIZON TO TRY TO GET YOUR BILL REDUCED, but they really don't do much to protect us. I WANT TO PAY VERIZON WITH THE SAME COIN THEY HAVE BEEN PAYING US. THE FRAUDULENT OVERCHARGES MADE ME TAKE THIS STRONG DESITION.

Well I really don't care about your comment But since you are attacking me I have no choice but to respond to you. FIRSTLY I THINK THAT YOU ARE AN EMPLOYEE WHO IS KISSING YOUR BOSS 'S FOOT. I REFUSE TO PAY FOR FRAUDULENT CHARGES AND THE FTC ARE INVESTIGATING MY COMPLAINTS AGAINST VERIZON. I KNOW WHAT I AM SAYING. I YOU DON'T BELIEVE IT, F. ATTORNEY GENERAL AND DCA ARE ALSO INVESTIGATING YOU. I TRUST THEM BECAUSE THEY ARE LEGAL.
VERIZON DON'T CARE ABOUT MY COMPLAINTS. I REQUESTED SERVICE CANCELLATION ON 7/24/06 AND THEY REFUSED TO HONOR MY REQUEST AND NOW THE IDIOTS INTERUPTED MY SERVICE TEMPORARELY FOR NON PAYMENT WAITING TO RESTORE MY SERVICE WHEN I PAY OFF THE BILL..BUT THINK THAT I AM GOING TO BE HOOKED UP PAYING ONE THOUSAND MONTHLY FOR 2 YEARS, NO WAY.I NEVER DISRESPECTED CUSTOMER SERVICES, THEY SAID THAT I HAVE TO PAY WHAT THE BILL SAID.
I AM AN ADULT BUT I AM NOT STUPID TO PAY ILLEGAL OVERCHARGES. ADD 400 DOLLARS MORE TO THE 2,000 BILL FOR BREAKING THE SECOND CONTRACT. LET SEE WHAT THESE AGENCIES TELL ME.

While I am sure you will object, your math is considerably wrong. If your inclined to contact me I would be happy to look over your billing or account but I am gonna guess your not going to accept that offer. The amazing thing about this and a lot of other complaints here and what I deal with on a daily basis is people get plans and don't accept the fact they use beyond their set limits then they call my call center and beg for us to cut deals. cell phone users also fail to realize their cell phone is a radio device and not a landline. Radio signals are affected by the enviroment.
If you made a reasonable attempt to contact customer service about your bill and they told you the charges were valid then accept the decision and be the adult you claim to be and pay your bill. it never ceases to amaze me how many adults go ballistic on customer reps. because they get freaked about the bill they, AND ONLY THEY, run up.
Calling those agencies you listed is your right but let's be serious. What are they gonna do for you?
