I spent almost $30,000 to get a truckload of electronics from via trading. In all my conversations with the sales rep, Mr. Chad Corzine, I was always told that all the 1103 items I bought will be delivered to me in 3 shipments of 12+12+11 pallets. When I called to enquire about my 3rd and final delivery, I was told that all my merchandise has already been delivered & that it was a mistake on Chad's behalf to say it will be coming in 35 pallets.

When I asked for Chad, I was told that HE NO LONGER WORKS THERE. I was in shock. I told them that I have hand written note from Chad on our first bill of sale stating clearly that it will be delivered in 3 different shipments. I faxed it to them. Again they said that it was a misunderstanding. I went through all the 24 pallets and found that I did not receive 1103 items. about 300+ items are missing.

Additionally , majority of the  goods i received was broken and not in the condition that I was told it would be in. I got no choice but to knock on court doors.

We are still waiting to hear from customer

AUTHOR: Jacques - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, January 03, 2013

We are familiar with this customer and this complaint. It is a shame that the customer has not accepted our offers to resolve this amicably, and has resorted to posting this review.

From our perspective, the customer purchased a truckload of customer return, untested electronics where the manifest clearly stated what was defective. We do not feel we misrepresented the condition of the goods as the number of defective items was published in the manifest, and the customer agreed to our terms of sale in writing stating the nature of customer return and salvage goods and what is to be expected as far as working condition.

Chad indeed left Via Trading a little over a month ago. A new Account Manager took over this account after the sale had been made. There have been many phone calls since where we tried to understand exactly what happened.

It does appear that yes, Chad made a mistake with the number of pallets that would be delivered. There were 24 pallets on the load, and thus it would not have been possible to deliver 35. We do appreciate that a mistake was made here, but the pallet count is irrelevant with manifested loads where a list of all the contents is provided.

What is of greater importance is that the customer should have received close to the total piece count he purchased (1,103 units). While we always ask customers to accept that due to the nature of the liquidation industry, small discrepancies on manifests are to be expected, a discrepancy of 300+ items  is indeed much too high. If there IS such a shortage in the shipment, we would take the necessary measures to compensate the customer.

In this case we asked the customer to cross-reference what he received with the manifest in order to determine exactly which items were not received. The customer refused to do this, and told us to expect a call from his lawyer.

We are trying our best to help but if a shortage of 300 pieces is being claimed, we feel it is only fair for the customer to go through the merchandise and let us know what he is missing so we can deal with it accordingly. Since the load was manifested, it should not be difficult to cross-reference what was received and what was not.

We are always willing to work with customers to rectify mistakes, but when we are threatened with a lawsuit and the customer refuses to do his end of the work to determine exactly what was short-shipped, we are put in a difficult position.

As always, Via Trading is here and willing to discuss with the customer should he be willing to reach an agreeable resolution. Feel free to reach us anytime by phone or email and we will be happy to discuss options. Thank you.
