I advise strongly NEVER dealing with Video Professor.

The Video Professor ads on TV are intentionally deceptive. "How can I afford to send you a free lesson? Because I believe you'll like it so much you'll buy other lessons from me [or words to that effect]. Once you get "my product" the odessy begins. First, yes, they charge you for shipping (as 3 or 4 separate, and identical charges so that getting them removed by your credit card company is difficult because they keep confusing the charges compared to what you're trying to have disputed and removed). Second, they send you the lesson, AND they then bill your credit card for $189.99. Then they send you yet ANOTHER lesson you never ordered and charge the fractured shipping charges again to your credit card (hence, the problem mentioned above to get rid of them).

They very happily give you an RMA to return the stuff when you call, and you send it back. Now, they have their "product" AND your money both!

First, they tell you "you'll get your refund in 20 days." When the 20 days comes and goes, you don't have the refund. You call again (all calls cost you long waits on hold), now they say 22 BUSINESS days. You wait 22 business days, still don't have the refund, so you call again. Now they say "we've expedited your refund and you'll have it in 7-10 business days. You wait, and don't get the refund. You call again, they say "It wasn't expedited (besides being ridiculous, so what? the original 22 days is long past), but NOW we will expedite it. You'll have your refund in 7-10 business days. If you don't get it, here's my personal number and extension and name, call me and I'll get this done immediately."

You wait another 10 business days, no refund. You call the "special" number they gave you, they say they never heard of that person, their entire computer system is down, so you'll have to call back later. You instead immediately call the "regular" number for video professor, and they say there is no problem with their computer system, they look up your account, and now say "it takes 30 business days [number keeps getting higher and higher]." You say "while it's absurd that you keep escalating the number, so what, it's now been 50 business days." They say "I am expediting your refund and you will have it in 7-10 business days."

That's where I am now, and I have little doubt I will finally have either to take them to small claims court, or, try to have my credit card company cancel the charge (because of the size of this bill, you can't just quickly get it removed like you can with small charges you dispute).

My recommendation is that unless you plan to KEEP your lesson and pay $200 for it, do NOT (repeat DO NOT) bite on this scam. These people are terrible, deceptive, greedy, dishonest, and fraudulent.
