Video Professor-the Company from Hell.

I ordered the Video Professor CD-ROM set via the telephone. I checked it out, then decided it did not meet my needs. So I did like they said and called the toll-free number listed before the ten-day trial was up to get information on where to return the set. I gave my telephone number to the recorded message which said they would get in touch with me the next day. It has been two month's and I still haven't heard from them. In the meantime, they charged my credit card immediately for $5.95. Then they charged me $49.95 on the credit card.

Then they sent me a second CD-ROM set, and charged another $5.95 on the credit card. I did not order the second set. My husband called Visa who sent out forms to fill out. Visa got in touch with Video Professor, which we couldn't seem to do, and Video Professor said they would cancel our membership (There was nothing about a membership even in the fine print).

So Visa got their address and we sent the second set (unopened), and the first set of Video Professor CD-ROMs back. Visa said we should get our money back by the middle of June. I don't think I'll ever trust a television commercial again with my credit card.

It is checks only for TV merchandise. I'll save the credit card for places I've done business with before: Like Amazon.com, QVC, HSN, Hammacher Schlemmer.com or companies my friends recommend. I don't have the telephone number for Video Professor anymore because I sent back everything. The only address I have is the place we sent the CD-ROMs back to.
