Wavee is a rip off scam. They manage to inform you that you should buy credits and say there is a $179 fee, but they take your charge card and charge it immediately. Then they come back and tell you there may have been some confusion and volunteer to return 50% of it. It's misleading and a scam. They will not refund your money even if you have not used the service.  Auctioneers make the money. You pay for every bid until you are paying more than what the item is worth and end up paying as much as it would have cost to purchase your merchandise at a retailer.

RIP OFF!!! Warn your friends.

Wavee.com is the most fraudulent online "business" I have ever run into.

AUTHOR: Joe - (USA)

POSTED: Thursday, December 16, 2010

Wavee.com is the most fraudulent online "business" I have ever run into. Being a penny auction (or however they describe their business and how it works) has nothing (ZERO) to do with their fraudulent behavior and results, regardless of how "fair" or unfair their bidding process may be.

They fraud you out of money up front and then they fraud you out of money if you "win" something. I have never seen a business like this - blatant fraudulent activity. My only shock is that they have not been shut down and thrown in jail yet.

This URL looks like a very good place to complain:

FTC Complaint Filed Against Wavee.com

AUTHOR: Andy - (United States of America)

POSTED: Friday, October 22, 2010

Thank you for the FTC link and info. This is an update. I emailed Wavee.com Customer Support with a not so nice complaint about why they did not have a confirmation check out page, why they took my money and why I did not get credits to bid on auctions. I also warned them that I was going to my bank to file fraud against them.

Today I received a call by a customer support agent that sounded nice, but he stated that the reason why I got no confirmation at checkout was because my debit card was declined. How can my debit card be declined by the bank? Wavee still took my money didn't they? All $538.00 of it they took. Anyways, the customer support agent told me that I would be refunded ASAP and should get my money back within 3-5 business days, let's see. I will keep this page updated I promise.

Yes, I did report their shady practices to the FTC and hopefully something good will come out of it. Please everyone who has been ripped off by WAVEE, report them to the FTC.

Wavee Ripped me off $538. Fake Channel 4 News website Lies About Wavee. Read This!

AUTHOR: Andy - (United States of America)

POSTED: Thursday, October 21, 2010

Let it be no mistake that if others and like myself had investigated Wavee before hand that we wouldn't have been ripped off, but let me prove to you how deceptive these people are.

I found an advertisement on Yahoo that led me to a channel 4 news website. Little did I know that this was a fake website. A fake news reporter named Julie stating how she and channel 4 news were going to put Wavee to penny auctions to the test and show us the results.

Julie reported that she did her homework and found the most trusted penny auction website and that was Wavee.com Julie also brags how people can save lots of money on blowout items through auctions at Wavee, not gambling, I think there is a big difference there.

Wavee should not be creating a fake channel 4 news website that entices and lie to the public. Don't believe me? Want to see for yourself? Copy and past this into your browser and read if you don't believe me. Every link from this fake website goes directly to Wavee.com with another enticing video supposedly from channel 4 news. This is pure deception at it's best and should be illegal.

http://www.news4channel.com/Tech/V2/004.asp?Network=16&It=3&TRUID-7A69F578-66C1-4362-B3B0-5F819D1DE25C=83e1a6ce-45f8-4ebd-9724-860309e811c1.

What happened at Wavee.com? During the sign up process there was no indication to me that I would be charged a non refundable $179.00! The checkout page to buy credits kept giving me error that my credit card info was input wrong and after several attempts to buy credits and with no luck I went to my bank to see what was wrong. My bank statement shows 2 charges for $179.00 and 3 charges of $75.00 that wavee charged me and I did not get a conformation of this at the website.

When you buy from a website there should be a confirmation page, but wavee has none at all, you end up getting charged for each and every time you attempt to try to get a confirmation of your purchase. How are you supposed to know that your Bank Debit or CC is getting charged without a Confirmation? You don't! They fool you to try again until you give up after several or more attempts then they got your money and now you have to fight them to get it back.

After trying 3 failed attempts to buy credits my bank account was charged $538.00 and my Wavee account shows a balance of $0 for credits. I've been to my bank and now I'll have to wait for the bank to get my money back, but what a real hassle.

Because it is gambling...

AUTHOR: Ronny g - (USA)

POSTED: Monday, October 11, 2010

..you probably should have investigated before giving out your credit card information online.

Yes..you can get the item at or above retail. But there is a "chance" you can get a deal. That is called "gambling" no matter how you slice it.

If you enjoy gambling and games of chance, then this site may work for some who have money to burn. Otherwise just shop for the best deal like normal consumers do..they are out there.

As far as the $179.00 fee..you stated they inform you there is a $179.00 fee..so where did you expect them to take it from? Don't give out the credit card info next time and then no one can charge you.

We read a lot of reports about these penny auction rip offs..so the info is out there. If more people would investigate before giving out credit info (takes a few seconds on an internet search), this would stop.

For example...just google "wavee scam" and see what comes up. If you did this before you entered your credit card info.you may have thought twice before signing up.

Wavee scam

Although the "auction" in itself is not really a scam in the sense they are very clear how the site works..there is no denying that some misleading or deception is involved with the sign up process...or we would not be reading so many similar complaints. I am sure Wavee could have a distinct, separate confirmation page asking the consumer to check yes or no regarding the $179.00 fee, but apparently they choose not to. This can imply they are knowingly and willingly deceiving people into paying the fee..and in that sense it is not unreasonable to suspect a degree of scam.
