I won an Apple IPod Touch -- valued at $300+ -- on November 22, 2010.

When it hadn't shipped for three weeks, I called their customer service line and reached a representative. I explained that I needed the item by Christmas and the rep assured me that it would ship on or before 12/22.

Today, 12/30, I called again after checking my account and seeing that the item was still listed as "processing." The representative I reached said that she could not tell me when the item would ship, and gave me these excuses for the delay:(1) We've grown 10-fold over the past few months so didn't anticipate the number of products that needed to be shipped, and (2) bad weather (I kid you not!), and (3) the product was out of stock for a while, and we can't control that because "we get it from a third party."

After I pressed unsuccessfully for a date that the product would be shipped, I asked to speak to the shipping department. The rep went off the phone and came back a few minutes later to say that her supervisor would expedite my delivery. When I asked what that meant in terms of a ship date, she naturally couldn't give me one.

She did offer me a refund, but only of the roughly $11.00 winning bid, not of the total cost of the bid credits purchased and spent in the bidding, and certainly not for the actual value of the product.

I have no confidence that I will ever see the product, and would therefore warn anyone away from this glorified gambling site. In dealing with a "penny auction" site, I knew I was gambling, but it didn't occur to me that I might not be able to collect my winnings. Don't let this happen to you!

Please read the file from bottom up; notes are in reverse chronological order.

"Brazen" doesn't begin to describe the manner in which Wavee has responded. They're obviously lying, providing no support for their claims to have shipped the product, and as of 2 minutes ago, the website STILLshows my order as "Processing." They just need to provide one more non-response, and the BBB will simply close the case as "Unresolved." I guess it's next stop, Georgia Governer's Office of Consumer Protection.

Lesson learned: These people are expert at not only extracting money from your wallet, but at avoiding giving you anything in exchange for it. Stay away! But if you're in this situation, your only possible remedies are going to be through the state regulators -- the BBB is a wonderful friend of the consumer, but unfortunately, they can't make anyone do the right thing, they can only report outcomes.
