Waypoint Homes FRAUD!!! ILLEGALLY EVICTED US AND SENT US A BILL FOR $10,000!!!!! Oakland California

I lived in my home for a year and a half, and one month I was 4 days late in rent, and Waypoint sent me an eviction notice. I offered to pay them the full amount including legal fees and they wouldn't accept it; they wanted us out asap. The eviction was illegal, I was never even served, which meant I didn't even get a chance to file an answer with the court. Less than a month later the sherriff knocked on my door and kicked me, my husband, and two small children out onto the street. Waypoint threw away all of our belongings. A month later I received a bill for $10,000, even though we were paying rent a month in advance and left a $2,500 deposit. (Our rent was $2,059 a month)!! WTF? When I called they said we owed $2,000 for breaking the lease, $1,500 to paint the house, $5,000 to replace all of the appliances in the house, and $2,000 (so far) for the house going unrented for the past month!!!! So, for every month that the house is not rented WE have to pay the rent!!!!! This company is SOOOO fraudulent!! I am hiring a lawyer and sueing the s**t out of them!! I am also contacting channel 2 and 11 so they can hopefully air my story and show people that these people need to be stopped!
