Wellnet America ripoff Unauthorized checking account transaction Las Vegas Nevada

In late December of 2003, I received a phone call from wellnet. The represenative stated for $1.95 you would receive an information package explaining our company and how it works and as our gift to you $200.00 in free gas vouchers. The only way we could receive this information was to do an electronic debit fron our account for $1.95. I gave the wellnet company my checking account and routing numbers.

The $1.95 check never went through my checking account instead a check for $126.85 from wellnet went through on January 7,2004. On January 12,2004 I received a notice from my bank that I was overdrawn my wife went to see why at the bank. When she returned from the bank she had a copy of an electronic check that went through the account at the bottom of the check it has authorized by me and it was not.

I called the customer service number at the bottom of the check and got a cancellation number on January 12, 2004. The represenative stated said 10 to 14 bussiness days you would have your money in a form of a check mailed to your house. When the 14 business days were up I called asking where my money was, wellnet stated you should have received it and we will launch an investigation. Since then I still have not received a check to this date 4-02-2004.

Since frist contact with wellnet I have called them numerous times and have been told
1. The check has been processed.
2. It was loged in as special attention to head office.
3. that I would have my check no later than next week.

Finally I contact wellnet through a different number than what was on the check 1-888-280-7145 and talk to a woman by the name of Lizzie Wilson, who informed me that she was a supervisor over the wellnet account and she guaranteed me that I would have my check from wellnet by us mail by no later than today 4-2-2004. My wife went and checked the mail and it was not there. When my wife told me it was not there I tried calling and all I got was busy signals and elevador music.

I got on the internet and seen where the state of oregon filed aginst wellnet and wellnet was ordered to make restitution and decided to file this report.
