This has got to be the worst auto loan/finance company in the world! People, please stay away from these crooks!
I financed a 2011 Ford Explorer with these guys in March 2012 & got into a financial jam a few months later in October. I called them to see if I can miss a payment for one month and catch up at the end of the loan. The guy on the phone sounded rude & literally told me that I need to make that payment up as soon as possible or they are going to reposess the truck. Before then, I was making my payments on time and I have to hear this?
In November I began to received nasty letters saying that I was behind one month & charged me an extra $300+ dollars for late fees & interest for missing a payment. I called them up and they said that they would break down the late fees add them into my next couple of months payments!
Fast forward to January of 2013. I live in California, my sister lives in Missouri. She began to receive hostile & threatening phone calls from Wells Fargo Dealer Services 3-4 times a day & night, stating that I was now two months behind on payments (which I wasn't)! About 2 weeks after those calls, Wells Fargo Dealer Services sent a repo company to my sister's house! Not once, Not twice, three times! I am nowhere near Missouri; I was still in California and never received anything from them out here.
They even began to hack into my Facebook & Twitter accounts, calling friends that I haven't talked to or seen in 6-7 years! Their representatives even went as far as sending chat messages on Facebook asking my friends & family for me to call them. I gave them back the truck, because of all the harassment to other people. They even sent repo guys to my daughter's house asking her to contact me to contact them. After about 1 month since I gave them their truck back, today, they went as far as to file a false insurance claim for damages to the truck that I no longer have!
People, stay away from this company! After seeing all of these complaints online, I am surprised that they are even still in business or had a Class Action Lawsuit levied against them. This is ridiculous!

Thanks for the laughs

Seriously you really made my day and I thank you for that. You came up with so many "gems" that I don't really know where to start.
How about with your thought that I am an employee. Well that is actually Standard Operating Procedure that is used when someone does not agree with what was posted. I personally think I am up to a few dozen separate companies that I have been accused of working for. The funny thing is that I do not work for a single one of those companies...including Wells Fargo.
As to them "hacking" accounts. Seriously, you are talking to collection agents who probably don't make much more than minimum wage. They are people who are not going to risk jail time by hacking into someone's social media account. If they really wanted to do that they would hack into more "vital" accounts. The fact with Social Media and Search Engines it would take even an average person probably no more than about 5 minutes to search for your Social Media Page, look at your contacts, and track other people down.
Then we get to the famous "Class Action Lawsuit". If you realized not only what it takes to file a Class Action, but how much it takes to file a Class Action, you would realize just how stupid your comments sound.
How about the recent Class Action Lawsuit...let's just see where that 17 Million Dollars Go.
- Attorneys - 4.7 Million(The only "winners")
- Lead Party - $5,000 each(for a total of $10,000)
- "Class Members" - Unknown from what I can find, but based on the number of "Class Members" get an amount from the remaining settlement, which looks to be around 13M. You are looking at a period of 5 Years, so it would be totally reasonable to have at least 250,000 members. That means that each member will get just over $50. If there turns out to be 2 Million Members..each person gets a whopping $6.50. I remember a Check I got for $0.31..yes you heard it right an entire $0.31 for some CA suit I never even knew about.
So if you are expecting a huge payday that is going to put them out of business...you are going to be very disappointed.
But if you still want to go for the Class Action Lawsuit, then more power to you buddy. I just hope that unless you have several thousand dollars lying around that your army of attorneys that you know are very good friends and willing to do it for nothing in the hopes that they may actually get something in the end. When you do I also really hope you post the Court Information including the Court Name and Docket Number, to at the very least prove me wrong.
The only question left is which suit will come first..the suit they are going to file against you, or this "Class Action" Lawsuit.

You Know, I think I will File

Thank you, Wells Fargo Dealers Services for responding so greatly to my post on here. As a matter of fact, I think I will file a Class Action Lawsuit against your company, if there isn't one already filed! Actually there was filed against "Wells Fargo Auto Finance Company" this past February, for violations of the Telephone Consumer Act. Of course, to cover for your company's screw ups, you folks settled for $17M.
So since you guys lost just recently, another Class Action Lawsuit filed in such a short period of time would not be in your best interest, so far as posing as a reputable finance company. I will let my attorneys in the great state of California who I personally know to not only obtain justice for myself, but obtain justice for the almost 400 BBB Complaints against you as well as the other 800+ from around the country!
See, it's criminal companies like yourself who hide underneath a big bank logo that not only gives the auto industry a bad name, but the bank as well. So in turn, you screw your customers, make threats not only to them, but to family members as well as hacking into internet accounts is a criminal offense in every sense of the word.
But, don't worry about it, thanks to the numerous phone calls, as well as witnesses which includes your sarcastic response to my post will at least give customers like myself a terrific start of putting you folks out of business.

Oh yes..THEY are the worst...

Yep..they are the worst aren't they. After all you got a loan from them in March, and made an entire 6-7 payments on-time. But even with that exemplary payment record they wouldn't let you skip a month. Then they had the nerve to actually call you up and threaten to repo the truck. You are so right, I think you should immediatly go to an attorney and DEMAND that they file a Class Action Lawsuit on your behalf and for free.
That was a nice side trip to Fantasyland...so let's get back to reality.
The fact is that YOU made a legal obligation to make a set payment at a set time EVERY month. There is nothing in your agreement that says you are entitled to, or that they must in any way, allow you to skip a payment. You also agreed that if YOU fail to make these payments they have the right to reposes the vehicle. They didn't hack your accounts. They did what every other collection agency does and search the Internet for you and looking at your contacts. If you don't want them to contact people you know..perhaps you should actually meet your legal obligations.
If you think you are done with them...it is only beginning. The truck was repossessed..yes even when YOU turn it in it is considered a voluntary repossession. The debt does not just go away. They will sell the truck at auction, and because it is an auction situation it will be for about 1/2 of the actual value. They will deduct that from your balance, but any remaining amount on the loan is something that you will owe. The collection calls will continue, and if you fail to pay off this debt they will sue you in court. You will most likely get a judgement against you. Since you are in California, they have the right to garnish your wages for up to 25% of your GROSS pay, as well as attaching your bank accounts until the debt is paid. Before you think that they are unique..EVERY single finance company would be doing the exact same thing.
One final thing. If you think that they were bad..just wait until you try to get another loan with a repossession on your credit. You can expect higher interest rates, higher down payments, some companies will even put a device on your car that if you are late they disable your car making it impossible to drive until you pay up.
