Whipple Plumbing I agreed by phone to try $20/mos membership then called back next day to cancel and was told no Salt Lake City Utah

I called to get my main drain cleaned and was impressed by the low price.  Then I was told that I could sign up for their membership for $20 a month and get discounted visits and a free main drain cleaning per year.  I agreed over the phone and gave her my cc info to charge.  That night my I talked to my husband and we decided that we really have too many monthly obligations.  So I called back within 24 hrs and told them to cancel.  The woman I spoke to said she could not cancel it.  I was upset that I couldn't cancel and then she told me I needed to speak to someone else and was going to give me her number.  I didn't have time to call someone else and told her to just cancel the appointment and the membership.

I thought it was ridiculous that the person that signed me up couldn't just cancel within 24 hrs. Today (several weeks later) I received a letter.  I thought it might be an apology and asking for my business but instead it was a contract stating that I had a 1 year commitment to them for $19.95 per month.
