Several people from Whitewing Financial have called about a 20 year old debt of over $1,500.00 they said we owed. They offered to settle for $300, then $200, then $439.00.
They told me that if they sent verification they could not settle and would have to charge the whole amount. They could not tell me what kind of account it was or who the busines was for a long time.
I asked for an account number and could tell it was not a credit card number, and was possibly a checking account number. They said I would still have to pay fees because it was probably not a properly closed account. I refused.
They advised they would put an inquiry on my credit report and that it would lower my score and possibly make it harder to get credit.
Watch these people!!!!

I too received a call from someone at Whitewing Financial trying to collect an 8 year debt. When I asked to person what was this for she couldn't give me any straight answers. She wanted me to verify my ssn# which I refused. She later said I could settle the debt for $91.00 (the original bill was for $151). I checked around calling to see if this information was correct and could not receive any response. I then asked how could I pay this and she said I could give her the information about my checking account# and I told her no. I can send her a money order. I was going to send it when I decided to go into the internet to see if this company even existed and that's when I came across the information from Loretta in Kansas. Needless to say I won't be sending them a thing! Take Loretta's advice, WATCH OUT FOR THESE PEOPLE!!!
