In September 2009, I received and e-mail stating my daughter had been elected for possible acceptance into the Who's Who Registry of Academic Excellence.  She was ecstatic, we filled out the application and e-mailed it back.  A few weeks later I received a letter from American Who's Who Association stating my daughter's biography had been accepted for the 2009-2010 Middle School Edition of Who's Who Registry of Academic Excellence. Attached was the completed bio and an order form.

On November 7, 2009, I forwarded a check and order for the Book (with picture) and Plaque. My daughter has asked me almost daily when it would arrive.  As the sight originally stated about 4 months I just said we needed to wait.  I finally went to the website to e-mail them and find out when we should expect it and found the following message,

"Due to the current economic conditions that persist today, AWWA has ceased operations. We are working to fulfill all outstanding orders at this time. Please check our website periodically for further updates."

I don't know how long that message has been posted on their website but I feel we should have been informed of the situation and given a date to expect our order or a refund.

I understand that many of us are affected by todays economic conditions but that is no excuse for your selfishness and hurtfulness caused to others.  It was the only thing my daughter had that she was looking forward to.  I understand things happen but an apology letter and refund would have been better than just ripping us off.
