 I leased a washer/dryer from why not lease it in December of 2015. The sales lady said there is no credit check but asked for my social security number and copied my drivers license. After plunking around on her computer for what seemed to be an exorbitant amount of time she proceeded to tell me that I qualified for $1900. I picked out what I wanted which was $1400. Once she added all the fees and who knows what else the total came up to... $1900. Hmmm... I signed the papers and the terms of the lease were 6 months of payments. I had to pay for 5 months and on the 6th month I was told to call for the payout amount which I was told would be $600.

When I called I was told that the payoff was $1200 and that I was on an 18 month agreement plan. I was also told that it would never be paid off until I pay the $1200. I paid on the set for 18 months at $326/month. Nearly $6000 later and telling them that my next call would be an attorney I was able to buy out for an additional $400. When I asked for a paid in full letter they told me to call back in 30 days. Then the washer caught on fire and was told by the repair man that the bearings were bad. Here we are 3 months later and 4 visits from the repair guys it's still not fixed. Luckily I bought the warranty but now the warranty division is not holding up to the terms of the warranty. I have another set of Sears repair people coming in the morning. Do not lease or buy anything from either of these companies.
