In October 2005 I purchase a Motorola V330 phone from Wirefly.com with a rebate offer of $130.00. I was to mail in the appropriate information after receiving the 2nd months bill and BEFORE 120 days.

My story is similar to many who have reported here. The rebate is handled by InPhonics.com

I have had emails from the infamous Doreen as well. In all, I have sent and received over 25 emails trying to track down why I haven't received the rebate. I have copies of everything. I was told to submit a second time since they hadn't received the first submission. Then they said they received both submissions and that seemed to have utterly confused them. I have one email that says they have OK'd the submission and will be mailing the rebate, but I think that is a smoke-screen. After 8 months, I have received NOTHING.

I too will NEVER buy a phone online OR with a rebate offer. Why are these companies not out of business? I have the summer off so I plan to pursue whatever consumer advocate resources I can find. I have the time.

What really peeves me is that there are NO phone numbers available for either Wirefly or InPhonics...at least that I can find. A good indication of the entire scam going on.

BEWARE.... rebate offers on phones are NOT a good deal.

Hi, Jean:

Let me apologize for the delays you've encountered during the rebate process. Our rebate center is backed up, thanks to the growing number of orders we're processing through Wirefly, and many rebates have been delayed but rest assured, we're taking measures to improve the situation.

If your rebates have already been approved, there is no reason to worry, and certainly no reason to accuse my colleague of putting up a "smoke screen." If she said your rebates are approved, then they are approved.

Please e-mail me with your order number and I'll be able to give you a more specific expected mailing date on those rebate checks.. Thanks, and I look forward to hearing from you.
