Wizard of claws are heartless, deceptive, cruel, manipulating people who sell sick puppies at astronimical prices.

Our dog of twelve years died in August. My little girl was so devastated by the loss that she cried about it almost daily. I had decided not to get another dog because the pain of losing our beloved pet was so great. After two months, my little girl was still suffering from the loss and asked for puppy. I had heard not to buy from a pet store because the puppies were usually sick and mostly from puppy mills. I picked up the Palm Beach Post and in the pet section was an ad for Pomeranians. I called and they assured me they were not a pet store, they were a loving, caring kennel that worked directly with breeders in their area. I drove 2 1/2 hours from my home with my little girl on a Saturday.

We saw several puppies and my little girl fell in love with one, the ad had said Pomeranians $500 - $900. When I told "Ricky" our sales person which puppy my little girl wanted he went to look for the file. After keeping us there waiting for 30 minutes "unable to find the file" and letting my little girl play with the puppy they could see she adored it.

"Ricky" announced he had found the file and the puppy wasn't a full breed Pomeranian afterall, he was a mix and he was $1,300. I asked why $1,300 he's not a full breed he said it's because he's a t-cup I said what does that mean, he said he will be under 4 lbs. as an adult dog.

I was unsure I wanted to pay the price so I went outside to think about it all the while my little girl was having a breakdown because she had fallen in love with this puppy.

We brought him home that evening. When I took him to my vet for his first check up I told them he had been coughing a little. I was told he had an upper respitory illness and we should monitor it closely, he was started on antibiotics but it developed in to pnuemonia and he nearly died. He received 24 hour critical care for several days and my vet bills totaled nearly $1,900. Wizard of Claws has refused to pay any of my vets bills. My dog is five months old, he is doing well but guess what? he weighs 7 lb.s at only five months. They played on my little girls emotions to rip us off, and that's about as low as you can get.

Go to stop wizard of claws (dot) com to see a list of different ways to file complaints against Wizard of Claws. Since the puppy was sick within 14 days of the sale, THEY ARE RESPONSIBLE for your vet bills. You will probably have to take them to small claims court to get it, but don't let them get away with it. Also file complaints with all the organizations listed. These people need to be stopped.

File A Complaint With The District Attorney's Office

AUTHOR: S.n. - (U.S.A.)

If your vet said that the puppy was sick when it was purchased and is willing to put that in writing, contact the District Attorney's office in the county where the seller is located and tell them you want to file a complaint. Tell them you do NOT want the dog returned to the seller because you are afraid of what might happen to it then. You could also go to small claims court and sue for your vet bills. I have never ever heard of anyone paying that kind of money for a mixed breed dog and suggest the next time you are looking for a canine companion you contact the shelters and rescue groups. You could have adopted a purebred (without papers, of course, and spayed/neutered) for much less.
