I have a 3 year Value Plus Limited Warranty plan with CARS Protection Plus. I bought the truck January 2012 and filed my first claim on the truck on in January 2013. Truck was taken into shop and I was told it has a blown head gasket. Looked at my warranty for covered components and head gasket is covered. After a tear down at my expense cause CARS makes you have a complete tear down of engine, no matter what. CARS claims they will not pay for the repair cause they need to know the components that failed. I even hired a attorney and he sent Cars a letter to let them know we will be bring a lawsuit if they dont pay and they are still stuck on "we can prove the components that failed." It is now the end of March and I just got my truck back and it was in the shop since January!!! C.A.R.S. had utilized this pattern of conduct as a mechanism to avoid honoring the insurance, as such fees are cost prohibitive, and that forcing customers to pay the fees will compel them to seek other means of repairing the cars. By requiring that these tests be performed, Defendant is essentially forcing its customers to pay for these diagnostic fees to confirm both what is wrong with the car (many mechanics may be capable of determining without a diagnostic test) and why the vehicle is broken.Even though a car warranty required the buyer to pay for diagnosis of vehicle, it violated the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act for a warrantor to require the buyer to pay for determining the cause of the vehicle's need for repair. On April 1, 2013  I sent them a personal letter saying im serious about them paying for the repair that they denied and I need to be reimbursed for the cost. This morning on the 2nd of April I receive a letter from my lawyer saying that they agree to pay the claim if we agree to void out warranty contract with them. We paid $1250 for the warranty and still have just under 2 years left. This company is a joke and needs to be shut down. People work to hard for their money just to basically by scammed by this company. When I bought the warranty it gave me piece of mind and now I cant believe how this company has treated me and doesn't even stand behind their warranty! The owned of CARS should be ashamed of himself!!!! Never ever buy this warranty. I promise you its the worst thing you could do. Please do your research!
