CARS protection plus Warranty repair cost not fully covered Lewisville, Texas Internet

Do not expect the cost of parts to be fully covered if you use this warranty. Read the small print on the contract before buying.  The phrase they use to not cover the full cost is "CARS has the option to select and/or supply user, rebuilt or aftermarket components when authorizing repairs."  

Be prepared to have the warranty only cover part of the actual repair cost if you want to get the car fixed in a reasonable time scale.  I had an alternator replaced by a local autoshop, CARS would only authorize the cost of a rebuilt alternator which was far lower that the cost price of the part the autoshop was using.  The alternative is to get CARS to ship it to the autoshop which will take several days and hope the autoshop will fit a part that is provided by a third party.

So take it that the "Option" means that you only get 60% of the parts cost covered unless you want to be without a car for 3-4 days AND your autoshop will fit the parts without charging you extra for using a 3rd party to provide parts.

I can image that the "Option" is inforced at all times to ensure the amount they pay is below the cost the autoshop can provide.  

There is no actual phrase in the contract that states they will only cover the cost of parts upto the value of their optionally supplied part.  I guess there goes the chance of having the original manufacturer parts installed through this warranty, all I will get is rebuilt and cheap after market parts.

Your choice - Pay up or wait !!!!!
