I had my car for 2 months when they sent a tow truck to repo it, once I got through to them and got it straightened out, my car was in West Va at an auto auction, mind you I am in Md, and then my husband and I had to take a greyhound bus for 15 hours through 4 diff. states to pick it up.
I then had them call me about a payment that I knew I had sent, at this time they were rude and asked me if I thought I could just drive a car around that I have not paid on and they were going to come get it, at this time my husband told them that since they hadn't received the payment that we knew we had sent they could just pick the car up because we were not sending any more if they were just going to say they never got it.
Well that was in 2007 and they just picked my car up a month ago, 4 years it took them , I sent no more payments, my husband drove the car to work each day at the same place he was working at when we purchased the car.I don't know of no other finance company that repos a car when the payment is made, but doesn't when you stop paying. The day they came to get the car they knocked on the door to ask for the keys, never heard of a repo company doing that either, last time they repoed it I was at a 7 11 store and had people in the car and when I came out it was on a tow truck.
I don't know how they are still in business because they are the rudest, people I have ever dealt with in my entire life. Well in closing I may not have my Monte Carlo now but I had a free car for 4 years and I feel It was a godly intervention for all the crap I had to put up with from these people.

Oh really?

So the "RipOff" is that it took them 4 years to get the car, and you have been driving around for "free". If you never hear from them again and what you are saying is 100% true then great for you.
But you may just be fooling yourself. Because you are still responsible for the loan balance, and 4 years of non-payments at a Sub-Prime lender probably doubled the balance(at least). The car is also 4 years older and they will sell it at auction for less as well. Your only chance here would be the Statute of Limitations may be in your favor, but my guess is that they won't help and you are going to be on the hook for the money.
I really hope that you just didn't keep the "sub-prime" mentality and think of that as free money. What you should have been doing is saving the money that was supposed to go to the payments and put it away every month. In 4 years that would be more than enough to buy a car "free and clear".

I think everyone misunderstood what I was saying. When I stated that they repoed my car I had only had it for 2 months and made the payment, I had to resend them my western union confirmation that stated that they had received the payment. They then admitted their mistake but instead of having someone bring our car back, myself and my husband had to take a very long bus trip through 4 different states to pick my car up,at which time it was at an auto auction to be auctioned that sunday, ( we arrived on Friday and first was told we could not get our car b/c they didn't release cars on Fridays) To make a long story short, thankfully the day we got it straightened out with CP,we were able to get a bus to take us there for had we waited our car would of been auctioned off, b/c CP never even called the auction place to notify that the car was not to be auctioned. The reason I stopped making payments was b/c CP started again with calling neighbors,my home and harrassing everyone who answered the phone saying again that we didn't make a payment when I knew that it had been sent. I shouldn't nor should anyone have to deal with ignorant people talking to your family or children with the language they use. Also its very embarrassing when CP are calling neighbors who you don't even know saying we are not paying our bills and I don't think they should be able to phone people and harass them either. So at that time my husband told them "since you want to keep calling and being ignorant when we have all the confirmations stating our payments are to date, you will not get anymore after this date so come pick the car up, at least then you will be justified in calling everyone b/c I am not making another payment" and he hung up the phone. Like I stated before we never moved for 2 more years, the car was tagged and insurance kept on it so they could of come anytime, my husband drove it to work, same place as he worked when we bought the car. So if you want to say I'm whining go ahead, but I had a car for 4 years for free but only b/c they are too stupid to come pick it up when I didn't make the payment but was quick to pick it up when I did make the payment. In closing say what you want, the moral of the story is CP is a low life scum company that needs to be out of business and alot of other people on here agree, seems you are just upset I had my car for 4 years w/o making a payment and you couldn't do the same!!!

And you've been repo'd before?
You sound like a whiny, cry-baby person who feels entitled to just not pay for what you buy.
Why else would you be repo'd at LEAST TWICE??
The "Crap" you had to put up with from "these people" was to get you to meet your obligation to them
Grow up.
You've likely not heard the last of this....wait until you are sued for the amount owed, with interest for 4 years and the loss they took at it's sale... :) :)
