I've been with cps since Nov 2016. In April 2017 I fell sick with cancer and was out of work and was forced to file for disability. I contacted office in July 2017 and explained to representative my situation, the representative then advised I was in loss prevention and she couldn't hold my account any further. I was placed on hold when a Ms. Kathia Rodriguez came to the line, start of the phone call she came off rude and asked can I afford the car, I then explained yes and explain my situation. Ms. Rodriguez showed me no empathy and advised me to pawn some thing or to go ask 50 friends for 20 dollars each to come up with a full payment by Friday or she would have to start process of possible repo, by the end of the call is was in tears. She then advised me ramifications of reports and how my credit would be effected and it would be hard for me to every finance again. At this point I am ready to voluntary surrender this vehicle. Please if offered a loan through customs, do not accept it.

CPS

Ok Robert I see that you have responded very negative to every person who has a complaint against CPS. I have a loan through this company and they are the worst lender I have ever had. I understand this is a secondary lender and understand why I am financed through this company that's not what's in question with a lot of these complaints. And by you pointing out that their credit is awful and all these nasty comments you make to people isn't right. As i learned if you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all. Now with that said the way you defend this scam of a company you must work with them. What I suggest you do is research this company because they have been sued last year for the same things they are doing to customers right now. And they admitted their guilt in this lawsuit and paid out millions.

When I got my car and was financed through CPS I knew that I would get a high interest rate and I expected that. And there was nothing wrong with it. I get I've made poor choices in my younger years and I'm working on rebuilding. However I was not told that after I've been paying on this loan over 3 years i still owe the exact amount that I financed over 3 years ago. I also understand that when you finance a car the first year all that you pay goes Wiley to interest which was fine as well. But nobody should be paying Wiley interest on their car loan over 3 years into it. And that was one of the many reasons they were sued. Another reason is applying late fees and other fees and not telling the customers about them and there are many many other reasons why they were sued. There are people out here who got in a bad situation and understand that they aren't going to get the best loans. However they want to rebuild their credit and will get a loan to help rebuild it. But it's hard to rebuild when the company you have a loan with isn't honest up front. When I financed my car I was til that my first year would go to interest and after that part of my payment would be applied to the principal and every year more and more would go to the principal.

Here I sit over 3 years later (almost 4 years now) my principal hasn't gone down 1 red penny. I've tried to refinance (and my credit score has come up in the last 3 years i could qualify for a lower interest now) and there's not a company in the US that will touch this loan because of the amount owed. And the people that have looked at it, along with other dealerships (because I've even tried to trade it) look at it and they don't understand how nothing has gone to principal and all of them sat I don't even think what this company is do I g is legal. My point is most all these people know that their credit wasn't up to par and that's why they got financed with a secondary lender but these people are also trying to rebuild their credit (and it's sad that there are companies that take advantage of these people) and I see other people just need the lender to work with them because of something that happened. For instance this person had cancer. It's not like they knew they would be diagnosed with cancer. And your comments were completely uncalled for. But I'm not to judge. You really need to read about this company you are defending so much because they aren't a good company and have stolen money from honest people that trusted them. If they were doing what they were supposed to and what that said they were going to and if it was by the books they wouldn't have had to admit their guilt in a court of law and pay out millions of dollars.

CPS is a Subprime Lender meaning that you already had credit issues and have failed to prove you can handle credit in the past. Don't say that you had perfect or even good credit as people with good or decent credit do NOT end up with this lender.

But then it should be no surprise that not even a full year into your loan you end up with more "issues", and with your entitlement attitude you figure that they are somehow obligated to just allow you to change the terms of the contract to what ever you want and they have to bow down to you.

I can guarantee you that there was nothing in your loan agreement that said you only had to make payments when you wanted to or you could. There was nothing that said if you had medical issues you could change the terms. No..your contract stated that you owed a certain amount to be paid at specific times for a specific number of payments. Now, what was also in the contract is that if you failed to do this they have the right to repossess the car and still come after you for the balance, which is exactly what she described to you.

So the only liar in this situation is YOU.

Oh and as for your voluntary surrender, that is still a Repo and everything she described as to the ramifications apply here as well. It doesn't matter if you turn it in or they come and get it.
