Credit One Bank DO NOT TAKE OUT A CREDIT ONE BANK CREDIT CARD!! Las Vegas, Nevada

There is a MAJOR problem with this company and I am about to file an official complaint with the District Attorney's office in Nevada.

Their business practices are dubious (to say the least) and their charges extortionate.

When I seen the card from CreditOne, I originally thought it was CapitalOne giving me a new card. As soon as I had accepted the card, I owed them $75 and had a minimum payment of $25 - before I had even made any purchases.

Also, unlike other credit card companies, you can't go online and pay the day it's due. For whatever reason (in this age of technology) it takes them 10 days to process a payment and you are going to get hit with a late fee of $25.

I unfortunately lost my job after taking out this card (through no fault of my own I might add). I contacted my creditors immediately and told them what the situation was. For several months now they have all been very understanding and patient with me ... apart from Credit One Bank.

I received a call from Credit One Bank when I missed my first payment. They asked if they could take $25 out of my bank account; that the late charge would be deducted, my account would be brought up to date and that I wouldn't receive any more phone calls until the 1st of the following month. I thought they were being pretty reasonable and agreed.

Next day, at 8am, the calls start all over again. I referred them to the call from the previous day and they said they had no record of this (despite the fact that they say all the calls are recorded) and of
course, no, the late payment charge wasn't deducted and the account wasn't brought up to date ... they just pile on more charges instead!

And, even although I have been paying them something every month, my balance has gone up $100 over the other companies.

They are the ONLY company that I have been paying a little to each month and yet they are the ONLY company that harass me. They call my house and my cell from 8am until 8pm every day. The calls are coming from an Indian call center, where the staff speak very poor English. The calls
come through a call center number and also through local numbers, so it's got to the stage where I'm afraid to answer my phone. I can guarantee that, because of this, they've also prevented me from catching important calls for jobs.

I have to also say that, Capital One, have been a vastly different experience. They send me letters once a month asking if they can help, they don't bother me on the phone 12 hours a day non-stop. Unlike Credit One Bank, they have received nothing from me in the past 3 months and yet have charged me less in charges and interest. The tide will turn eventually and once I get another job, Capital One is the first company I will be paying off and the only card I will be keeping. On the other hand, the Credit One Bank card has already been cut in two and I definitely won't be using them at any point again in the future.

I'm sorry I ever took this credit card (and yes, that was a VERY poor choice on my part) and would strongly advise anyone against taking one of their cards. And make sure you reach the small print. Even if you are working and making payments every month, their interest charges are extortionate!!
