If you buy a DELL from any body other than DELL. Dell will not warranty the computer, not even for one day.
Do your research, I am now stuck with a one month old Dell laptop that is nothing more than a paper weight!
This is the first DELL I have bought and it is the last Dude! I am going back to __. It never gave me a problem and has almost no complaints on ripoffreport.com.

I am going to try to sound...generous about this....cause I'm not trying to bust your balls here. I do customer service for a different computer manufacturer, we ship out all of our computers with one year of warranty for free on them and the option to purchase up to 4 years if you wish, regardless of where you buy them from. But let me say a word or two about assumptions....they get you in trouble.

Don't every assume anything, especialy when making an expensive investment like a car or a computer or a tv. Don't ever go drop a grand on a product without doing a little homework first. If it doesn't say "1 year warranty" on the box...why would you assume it has one? The terms and conditions of the manufacturer warranty are printed and package with the notebook. Also...the first time you turn your computer on, and that big long statment comes up that everyone clicks "I agree" to without reading....that also explains the warranty period and limitations. Now I have read Dell's warranty, it was a few years ago, so it might be a little different now, but it should be basicly the same. Dell's warranty isn't very good, but it certainly not deceptive. It explains in clear english and terms that are easy to understand what you do and don't get with the warranty.

Basicaly....if you made an assumption based on no information, and didn't read the material in the box, and didn't read the statment you clicked "i agree" to, and didn't do any homework before making the purchase.....that is not Dell's fault at all...and there is absolutly no rip-off here for you to report.

Now I'm not going to say Dell is a great company, I don't like them either, but just because you make a poorly informed assumption is no reason to swear off an entire brand name.
